Any way to bind MOUSE2 for USE?
Now, I used to play this game (sac)religiously back in the day, so I know that VtM:B is not really a full-on immersive sim (at least not in my opinion), however, with the similarities that it does have to Deus Ex, etc. I keep falling back into the muscle memory habit of wanting to click that old right mouse button to interact with things (I think they called it "frobbing" or some other unnecessary and vaguely suggestive-sounding slang on the Looking Glass forums?).

I can't be the only one wanting to rebind the keys, for god's sake! When I go to map the mouse button (MOUSE2) in place of E for USE, though, the game rather stubbornly refuses, as if it had a sponsorship deal with the corporate fat-cats of Big "E Key", Inc.

Perhaps there's a way to accomplish this via editing some .ini file that someone more learned than myself (but less virile, of course. I'm far too busy conquering women like a living Frazetta painting to understand .ini editing) wouldn't mind enlightening me regarding?

Thanks to this hypothetical nerd in advance.

Weird, but you are right! I have no idea why this is the case though.

Wow! I caught something even you weren't aware of? I'd feel proud if it wasn't so frustrating. And, of course, thank you very much for your work on The Unofficial Patch.

I'm oldschool and always bind Use to SPACE, so I never noticed :)!

Find your config.cfg file and use some text editor to search for "+use" then change the binding to MOUSE2.

Where your config.cfg file is depends on what patch or mod you are using. If using an Unofficial Patch it will be Unofficial_Patch\cfg\config.cfg, for Clan Quest it will be CQM\cfg\config.cfg, etc, etc. If you don't know for sure, just do a search for "config" from the root game folder and edit all the cfg\config.cfg files you find.

When you are done the line should look like: bind "MOUSE2" "+use"

Then you will have to search for MOUSE2 again to find the discipline line it was bound to and change that to your preferred key. I can't tell you exactly how that line will look because it will again depend on what patch/mod you are using.

But an example line from one of my UPs and swapping MOUSE2 with e the line would be: bind "e" "vm_discipline"

Thanks so much, Nor! It is you, not I, who has conquered like Conan this day.
