I've defnitely been making use of that. And getting to do the entire "blow up the warehouse" mission without ever killing anyone was fun, but I'm just wondering if I'll be able to make it through the entire game like this.
Another clan that I would suggest to avoid on first playthrough is Malkavian, since they get unique insight on events and persons in the game which sort of spoils certain stuff that is cooler to find out on your own. (imo) Malks are however superfun so definitely give it a go at some point ;)
I know I also had a glitch with my game (related to one of your ally NPCs) that only affected nosferatu due to their different travel route from everyone else.
But if you are having fun, just keep going!
ps. Regarding unofficial patches and mods : if you install any of those, you must start a new game. Continuing an older savegame after installing a mod/UO patch midway, results in a corrupted save and problems.
pps. beginner hint: don't forgo your combat completely when leveling up. It also helps if you choose either melee or ranged and concentrate on it. The game has certain bossfights that are unavoidable, and you may find yourself in trouble if you create a "Ill talk my way through it all" character. You dont have to go overboard, just dont ignore combat altogether. Stealth also doesnt help in those bossfights unfortunately.
Majority of the missions have multiple ways to complete however and talking/sneaking etc help with those.
You absolutely need combat in this game to get anywhere. You can talk your way through a lot of the early stuff, but once you get to Chinatown, you need a strong fighting character. It's what is kind of disappointing in this game, I turns into an action RPG about 2/3rds of the way in and dialogue and character interaction amounts to "Fight me bro!" for the last 1/3.
While this is true for the most part, I think in the final confrontations betwen the factions it would
make no sense to just persuade an enemy to give up! This was ridicullous e.g. in F:NV...
Note that OT was talking about possibility of stealthing his way thru it all. ;) Thats also a valid option for most missions, just not the critical parts and boss fights. Admittedly, stealth does avoid a lot of the combat in the game.
Also, thank you for all the friendly advice!
The real challenge comes at end when you have to face the big bosses nearer the end chapters of the game. In those fights its less about your clan and more about how you have built your character for combat, although some disciplines are better than others. Note: depending on your choices of allegiance, you may be able to avoid some of the bossfights.
Also quick hint: you are not supposed to fight the werewolf xD (just run). The werewolf is unkillable by combat. Not wholly unkillable, but thats another secret lol.
I couldn't have said it better.
The Nosferatu clan really isn't that hard to play as and I'm sort of upset I didn't get to try them sooner. Even when it comes to hiding from humans: you're given an indicator as to how close you can get to a human NPC.
