Blood Salvo bugged?
I am playing the game with Unofficial Patch 9.5 but I choose not to install the discipline restoration, I heard that blood salvo is an AOE attack but it only hit one target and return so little blood :(

Blood Salvo will only attack the enemies with the ankh over their head...

Blood Salvo is useless discipline. Restored Thaumaturgy is a way better cos Blood Theft and Blood Boil (also tweaked) are useful. In vanilla game they are totally not worth the amount of points they require.

Indeed, I found out later while dealing the plague bishop, blood salvo will only attack the enemies within sight or towards your character, not a effective sneak-snipe discipline, blood theft spoiled me:steamsad:

And kudos to you wesp5, everytime a new patch surprises me:steamhappy:

I didn't find out any deference between the patched or unpatched Blood Boil, its long range remained and still one shot non-boss enemies, perhaps it's the damage get tweaked? While I was playing a pure mage Tremere I always killed bach using Blood Boil and a bunch of blood packs, he doesn't even had the chance to teleport because we are snping each other, I'll see if it is true the next time I deal with him:steamhappy:

And about the restored Thaumaturgy, it is good, but kind of a compansate, the original Purge is just so OP, most bosses I killed so far are just vomiting blood and get spamed by Blood Strike:steambored:

In the patch readme there is some info about Blood Boil tweaks. And it's always better when all discipline levels are useful even if this mean some downgrades to the OP ones :)

From what I remember I had to use sniper rifle to kill Bach since Thaumaturgy did not work well against him (restored one, don't remember how it was with original skills).

The patch readme only said "corrected Blood Boil info", I guess it still functions as the orginal version. And indeed, it's always better when all discipline levels are useful, the original Purge is too OP that shrouded others, Blood Boil has the longest range among all disciplines, and deals ~50 damage per cast to Bach and ~70 to Sheriff's bat form, but with the original Blood Shotgun and original Purge I might not even consider to use Blood Boil druing a boss fight:steambored:

I probably just fixed something in the description, I can't remember messing with the discipline itself...

- "+Adjusted Blood Shot and Boil damages"
- "Fixed many enemies not damaging each other even when Blood Boilded" (I played the basic version a long time ago so maybe this is why I considered Blood Boil is bad in original version)

Blood Boil cost is high so using it against Bach when it does not kill him with one shot was not worth to use for me when I could hit him for 100 or more with Sniper Rifle from far away (I like to max out Auspex and it also helps with range weapons) when Blood Boil range is much shorter.

And I preffer to use Blood Shot against vampires (combined with katana or that later version of it) cos it returns blood when Blood Theft and Blood Boil only deals some dmg without causing death like in case of humans (and they cost a lot).

Blood Boil is cool for Romero quest especially (in the final stage, in the beginning and the middle stage Glock + headshoting + Auspex that tells you what you want to shoot work great).

Then it's indeed the damage of Blood Boil is changed, I'll try it on Bach to see how different it is.

As for the combat part, while I was playing a Tremere, I always use Thaumaturgy only and abandon other combat skills, with the eldritch backgorund I can use Blood Boil at early game, such as doing the warehouse quest, Blood Theft + Blood Boil all the way, killed every thugs in warehouse and still got the "not detected" reward, too bad one can't get the "not detected" and “killed everyone” rewards both:steamhappy: And thus I can put XP to other use, such as rising Persuasive, Intimidation, Hacking, and especially Haggle, most people think it is useless, part of reason is they don't have enough XP to spend, in UP+ however, one have 3 times to rise Haggle for free, only 9 XP needed to max it, plus 1 or 2 more points in manipulation, one can purchase blood packs at a very low price for ~65$, ~125$ and ~220$, blood packs are both bullets and healing to Tremere, though I only used blood packs druing some boss fights, and some hard quests one can't feed(Warren:steamfacepalm:), the rest fights, just Blood Theft + Blood Boil and Trance + feed all the way. Didn't save any blood packs, finish the game several times with only use thaumaturgy to fight and 3000+$ left in my pockets:steamhappy:

The later had nothing to do with the discipline itself, only that there was some kind of friendly fire enabled for enemie squads that made them not take damage when some of them exploded. I can't find any damage changes themselves maybe I meant that some enemies should not boil when they have no animation for it, like the dog...
