You save a cat from a tree, and grab that stuck balloon while youre up there. +2 humanity

Humanity means how much of a monster your vampire is.
If you lose all humanity then it's game over, you have become a ravenous beast.

Toreador have doubled loss/gain of humanity.

You don't need to worry about it, humanity loss only happens when you decide to do bad things, it isn't forced on you. Also don't kill when feeding.
