If you want to mess with those, then install ReShade, and maybe do your own preset, but if not, i think ReShade can read SweetFX presets...
If the preset doesn't work, it's probably because you lack the required shader that the preset is using.
Same with director's cut preset. Probably uses some shader or something that the provided one doesn't have or whatever.
Plus, if you're using the provided SweetFX/ENB thing, that's there to not be changed. It's a combination of SweetFX with ENB added on top of it, so whatever preset you're triyng to apply is clashing with the ENB (which would explain your graphical glitches. You use that "as is".
Delete the SweetFX/ENB completely, then install ReShade (https://reshade.me/).
It's easy to use, it has an ingame overlay, you don't have to mess with text files if you don't want to, and easy to install. Just point it to the .exe, choos Dx9, and dowload the shaders you want to use. If in doubt, just download all.
Then you can hit "home" (i think) in game to pull up the overlay and tweak everything. ReShade also can do presets, but i haven't tried to use SweetFX presets on it. I think they work, but how to do that, you'll have to google or something...
The SweetFX version included with the patch already uses ReShade. It's just an older text based version because I am not allowed to include the latest versions with the patch!
I just meant that there's also an ENB applied to thay, isnt it? Or can you use those separately?
ENB is an alternate shader suite, you can install both at the same time but I never tried.
What about OP's issue then? What would be causing that?
Cause i'm out of ideas...
I've been going through it trying to figure out why the preset is having issues and I'm at a bit of a loss still. I suspect it's changes between the current reshade version and the preset itself (it's rather old now) but I'm still uncertain.
I think I'm going to hold off until the weekend and do some reading about how to use reshade properly and have a play with the settings, hopefully I can get a similar result.
