Console Difficulties

Whenever I try to open the game with the -console command within the game properties, the game crashes before it can even open. Anybody know how I could possibly fix this?

I've played through the game with console commands enabled multiple times and there's been no issue, and when I try to open the game with -console removed, it runs perfectly fine which leads me to believe that there's somehow an issue with enabling the console to begin with. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice with no luck.

If you use the Unofficial Patch you don't need this command anymore, so try that!

How would I install the Unofficial Patch into the Steam game files on my computer after I've downloaded the patch? Would you be able to use console commands just the same without the initial command?

it installs it self just look up vtmb patch. it does alllll the work super duper easy.
