NEED HELP WITH A MOD!!

hello i have just bought the game and i downloaded the unofficial patch because a friend told me to. and i was looking at nexus for some mods and came across one that edits the male Brujah character and i have been having issues with the mod. i have put it into the base folder for the game didn't work, moved it to the unofficial patch folder, still nope? it crashes right after i choose brujah and it says "map version is 2531, expecting 17!!!" as the engine error message. i tried researching the phrase with no luck so if anyone has any ideas id be glad to hear them!!

Yeah, tbh, I was also trying to install a mod to replace the Tremere clan player texture character. I got a similar error message to yours. My advice would be to stick to the mods that improve the textures, rather than replace them Such as

Do you remember which mod that was that didn't work?

Were you trying to use it with the Plus version of the Unofficial Patch?

I couldn't get 10.8 without agreeing to the Patches Scroll's ridiculous cookie policy, so I tested with U.P. 10.9 Plus. The Damon Salvatore mod seems to work correctly. While installing the mod files (copy/pasting the mod's unofficial_Patch folder [and later, the "Vampire" folder] into the main game "Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines" folder), I was prompted by a pop-up window asking for permission to overwrite a file that was already present in the patch files. I gave consent to overwrite, launched the patch from the desktop short-cut, started a new game and ran around.

I tried launching the game incorrectly and a few other ways to try to break something, but I was unable. No crashes or messages.

this worked for me! i appreciate you figuring this out man. also is there a way to change my player model to important npcs? such as jack

Still got this issue only that when I choose Female characters over all the game crashes and i get the same popup. Tried the previous solutions but it dosen't work. The mod files are where they are supposed to be and I play and downloaded via vortex.

I'm not sure the Unofficial Patch works with Vortex, I never made it for that...
