Can't get through Character Creator

I've installed the Unofficial Patch, I've deleted the files and reinstalled the game.
Still each time I try to start up a new game, I'll get to the first question of the character creation and the games audio starts to freak out and I'm unable to click anything.
Sometimes alt-tab gets the game to act normal before it does it all again.
I have no idea what's wrong and hope someone can figure out what's wrong.

Vanilla game runs fine, so far no patch has worked

Only when I have a patch installed I run into the game, U.P. has the game break after I get past the loading screen after a New Game. True Patch ctd after clicking New Game

When you wrote "the same problem" (with true patch) , I thought you meant the stuttering issue.

The two .dll files should fix the true patch ctd, read my entire post of steps again. You can copy paste everything again.

Make sure you paste the two .dlls in the vamprie/dlls folder.
Remove any steam launch options for the game.

I would start with a fresh install as the True Patch mentioned.

Yup, still has the stutter even after doing all that again. Zero launch options, deleted the folder before reinstalling the game. Still does the stutter on the first two questions after the first loading screen.

Okay, so I turned off the audio stuff, turned shadows to simple, and quickly went through the Character Creator. Game still just randomly freezes now. True patch did work, saw it while getting through the new game stuff, and could tell just by looking at the game.

You are going to have to decide whether it's worth the risk of your time being wasted, to keep messing around with the various settings, or researching old posts related to the issue, for the possibility of stumbling upon the solution. Or risk getting stuck by a bug in the vanilla version.

Well I really want to play this game, and it's gonna torture me if I can't figure out what is wrong. I managed to get a character created and get a save

So I finish the creating the character, and the cutscene freezes when the door gets kicked in.
I decide to skip intro, and make a save. I finish the dialouge with jack, walk around for a bit, getting a refresher on controls. I proceed to go back into first person and game freezes again,

So far after a few more attempts. The game has froze when I fed off the first human, and then froze again during the second conversation with Jack.

I don't remember reading about anything like that before. It still seems like a hardware issue to me.

"I would" try the windows performance power setting, the Nvidia Control Panel Bloodlines program settings power mangement "prefer maximum" setting.

Game seems to play at least, still freezes at weird points. Usually on a cinematic, or when going from 3rd to 1st person.

For how long does it freeze?

You could try switching off "bump mapping" in the game options; might help the GPU just a tiny little bit.
