Using Xbox controller

I see many different posts about using Big Picture and an Xbox controller. Some say it is possible while others say it is not possible. Has anyone played it with an Xbox controller? Thanks

Yes and no....this is an old game which doesn't have native controller support and you have to configurate it manually through Steam or some other software and assign all buttons to a key. Keep in mind that it is pretty difficult to aim with a controller later on in the game where you have to use your guns against more difficult enemy types (game doesn't have aim-assist) so it's up to you if you want to spent that much time configurating everything with your controller only to realize that you made the game 1000 times more difficult than it was before...

I kinda wish, I could use controller but using the keyboard was the way to go.
I highly recommend you go keyboard. It will take some time to get use to but well worth it

I think it isn't actually, goldsource and source engines always had it, it might've been just remove from settings options here but i'm pretty sure it's still in engine and most likely can enable it with some console command.
