Unoffical Patch graphical bugs

Is there anyway to fix the missing textures in the unoffical patch for this game?

Have you got a screenshot of these missing textures? Because I'm not sure what you're referring to OP.

oh well not right now, but like when the icon for picking up the lockpick shows up, it's just a black square. Also sometimes when the tips to the game shows up, the bg becomes black.

Not sure if this is related but have you got BUMP MAPPING turned on in the in-game settings?


Also, where are you launching the game from - vampire.exe shortcut, steam library, steam with set launch option "-game Unofficial_Patch" or Unofficial Patch desktop shortcut?

Only the last 2 actually launch the patched game.

I'm sorry for asking this but is there an Unofficial Patch subfolder inside C://Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines/ (or wherever your game folder is found)? If not, the Unofficial Patch needs to be installed to wherever your Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines folder is located.

That doesn't sound right.

It might be best for you to do a clean reinstallation and apply the Unofficial Patch according to the "Installing the Unofficial Patch" section of the guide below:

CLEAN REINSTALLATION instructions:
- delete the entire "Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines" folder (found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\)

- then "INSTALL" the game from your Steam library again.

You're very welcome. A reinstallation is usually the best thing to do in these situations.

I've managed to get the game working for a lot of people over the Halloween sale, and I'm betting it's a small mistake that resulted in this issue. *Fingers crossed*

also while I have you here, which of the vampire clans is the best for a melee hand to hand type playstyle?

Either Gangrel or Brujah (Gangrel are more animalistic). They both make good powerhouses in my opinion.

I know you're not likely to consider them but just in case you didn't know - both Malkavian and Nosferatu are best to leave for a second playthrough or later, since they make the game difficult in their own way and you'll appreciate them so much more if you do this.
