Actual money cheat
Yeah I know. I consoled up "money 5000" and I had to google why my game was 'bugging out'. I can't just get money clips because then it'll say I'm carrying too much and have to drop something. Soooooooo how can I get money? And not in any honest way. I'm lazy and I hit ESC before I tilde.
PS: money 1.65 .... that's about right.

Not sure you're aware, but there are these things called "search engines" that let you, well...search for stuff. I'm pretty sure the most popular one is called Google or something like that. You should try looking there. Or are you too lazy to bother with that too?

Okay smartiepants. You try googling for it. All you get is that boob enlargement thing. Go ahead. I can wait right here.
Here you go. http://www.cheatcc.com/pc/vampiretmb.html See that list of items? Make some. Sell them. I'll even give you two bonus tips: 1. There's a super easy questline involving the thin bloods at the beach that results in you getting several hundred easy bucks, and guess what? You do it by duping one of them into getting himself killed, so there's dishonest way #1.

2. If you really wanna get the most out of your selling of items, cheat yourself into having a maximum Haggling, vendors sell to you cheaper and buy higher.

That was hard, huh?

I appreciate the effort but I was hoping to find a less honest way of getting money. But yeah, those kinds of means I found.

I don't even get why the money is that big of a concern. Out of the various resources you collect in-game, money is probably the least important. The only things you really need money for are new armor every time you enter a new hub, MAYBE new weapons if you want to buy rather than find some, and ammo if you're a shooting heavy character. Other than that, demands on your money are so few and far between it's not worth cheating for. Plus the game gives you numerous ways to earn money continually, like helping Venus in her club.

Your wallet description alters when you've got x amount of money. I wanna see all the descriptions.

You know, this thread is the first thing to come up when you google the inquiry.
Just to make things easier for future searches -
The "give item" code has some issues - the available items will need a slot in your inventory.
Available items under the "m" paragraph are
1. item_m_money_envelope
2. item_m_money_clip
3. item_m_wallet
However, whether this is related to the system you're running the game on, unofficial patch or whichever gremlin fell asleep in the game code, the inventory will not allow the addition of these objects due to lack of inventory space (it does not matter whether your inventory is full or empty, the same message will be stated).
A silly option for quick cash cheating would be havens. Each of them has a news anchor room floating beyond the accessible cell area. The noclip command, which enables you to clip through walls and walk into the vast beyond will also allow you to reach said rooms. They will have a $150 money clip laying around.
But in the end, if you're really in a tight spot, just use the all items cheat. Typing "impulse 101" into the console, without quotation marks will fill your pockets with $1000 each time it is entered. Along all other available items. A bit of an overkill but, well, it works.

This a necro, as it is the first result in google still,

here is the actual command;

FindPlayer().MoneyAdd(99999)

The capitalization matters, just copy and paste that and boom money.
