This works fine for me. Are you sure you are looking at the right mailbox? Also what are the values of G.Shubs_Act and G.Shubs_Email when you type these into the console?

Where is your haven and where can't you open the mailbox?

If your where I think your at in the game when you go downstairs to leave your first haven you click on the mail box against the wall and the key should be in there if I remember it correctly. If your already are at your second haven then that is your main haven and you need to open the mail box there which if I am right is on the first floor. You can only have one haven in the game. You get an upgraded one depending on choices you make. So if your at that one already then that is where your key should be at mate.

Then use the console: give item_k_shrekhub_four_key

The most important console commands are listed in the UP readme and then you only need to check the item files...
