Reallistically going solo would be an excellent way to end up dead. In terms of life expectancy and potential benefit Strauss and the Camarilla are probably the best bet.
But i thought the same thing... Going solo works for Beckett because he's apolitical and a scholar. Also a Gangrel so they're loners by nature. Malkavians on the other hand aren't that great when left to themselves maybe, so yeah, life expectancy isn't promising in that regard, especially given the events that transpire throughout the story.
Maybe Strauss would be a good "safe" pick for a Malkavian. He's proven to be very understanding when you talk to him and reveal his secret with your insight, and he seems to actually understand and value Malk's "gifts". He also "read" LaCroix from the start, but isn't in the position to do anything about it til the very end.
Anarchs, while cool (i like Damsel lol), are always fighting someone. If not Camarilla, then someone else eventually. Not a great way to exist... Even the cab driver agrees with that. He has some dialogue regarding this.
Then again, Isaac seems quite calm and peaceful, but i think that's mainly because he's a Toreador. The rest of the Anarchs are hotheaded.
It'll be a while before i have to choose, but i'll keep my options open. I won't betray Strauss to Isaac this time so i can choose to go to him at the end.
"YOU DANCING FOOL!!!"
Hahahahha!
Does that end the game though or is it just like it was before, where you're stuck in the room?
I think you are stuck in the room as this is really only an easter egg the UP restored...
Ah cool, thanks for the warning. :) I'll be sure to save the game before i speak to LaCroix at the end.
In answer to your last question, I quote Beckett, "What I am is Kindred, How others choose to categorize themselves concerns me only where local customs are concerned. Individualism is a path fraught with obstacles, and sometimes angry mobs, but for all it's hardships it's the only one worth taking.
There are three lone-wolfs in the game, one you can trust, two whom you can't. But no one messes with any of them.
There is a very good read on the subject here: (Not just Malkavians but they are discussed) http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/914819-vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines/62817512
