can't leave asylum!

Help! I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I'm starting a new character in VTMB, and I went into Asylum for the first time. Upon trying to leave, there's a goth boy standing just inside the doorway leading to the only exit door, and I can't get past him. I didn't have this happen with my previous character. I tried reloading a save, and he's still there. Any suggestions on how to get past this? Thanks!

Commit murder or drain the blood or do a gentle punch. Have you tried those options?

I have. It won't let me draw weapons (including my fists), use my powers, or feed. Apparently because I'm in a sanctuary.

Go dance, people will gather around you, maybe that NPC will move then. Or just noclip through him.

I tried the dancing thing, too. No luck. So I decided to load an even earlier save. That seemed to fix the issue. Thanks!

What is noclip?

noclip is a cheat that lets you pass through solid objects like NPCs or walls. If you get stuck again, use it to try to pass that. open up the console (tilde key, left of 1), and type it in.

Also, if you're not using the Unofficial patch, you should install it and start a new game.
Especially if you're not that far, cause it fixes a lot of stuff in the game.

Ok then. Just checking.
Well, console is enabled by default on the unofficial patch so just noclip through anything that blocks you if they don't move.
