I was worried that Vortex wasn't going to work with the "Mod Loader" that the patches and larger mods utilize.
There was a person that asked for help with a two file mod (only one of the files had a mod manager download), so I told them to install the main files manually, they never replied, so I assumed that the Vortex mod files were working with the manually installed main mod files.
I had planned on testing these issues for myself, but I think I remember reading that once you install Vortex, it's the only way to install files for that game (or something equally troublesome). Is this true?
I wanted to ask about this stuff on the forums, but I didn't want to cause a panic over something that I wasn't sure was an issue yet, as I there doesn't seem to have been a surge of complaints on the mod pages, which is usually what happens when something gets seriously broken.

Edit: Also, some of the Vortex compatible games have an "installation wiki" of sorts, but I wasted a bunch time going round in circles trying to find one for Vampire.
I'll assume that Vortex has some sort of file hierarchy mechanism like most mod managers, but installing all of the top mods manually, there would almost certainly be some incompatibilities between them.
On the mod's "files" tab page, you can usually find a "preview file contents" button, that can help to give you an idea of which types of files a mod archive contains.
i always turn the mod manager option off for the mods i upload. they'r all copy paste overwrite/override...
i doubt very much the mod manager is designed to automatically back up files being overwritten.
that said... i never used it one way or the other... even when i downloaded mods for skyrim.
It utilized a "virtual folder directory" that kept most of the vanilla files unaffected, much like the Mod Loader does for Bloodlines. It isolated loose files from installed mods in separate folders for each mod. You could change the load order -which determines which files get overwritten by identical files- or even switch off a particular mod, or file, to help determine a conflict, all virtually
done through the interface.
Having isolated mod folders was also convenient for working on, or testing your own edits or mod projects.
I'm going to assume that there is a virtual game installation folder, installed somewhere. Tannin, the guy that worked on Mod Organizer is working on the Vortex team.
Of course, there were many people that didn't like M.O. because it appeared to be overly complex, but it was easy for me to make the transition because it felt like the "big brother" of FOMM, which I used for Fallout 3.
I think I spent an hour looking at the Vortex FAQ, just trying to figure out it actually works. Not how to install it or run it, but how it works.
I found some Gopher videos starting from FEB 2019:

Also, I believe that the "Top Mods", are selected monthly by an algorithm that detects endorsements (or something similar), so it's not exactly a guarantee of quality.
i couldn't get my persuasion high enough to talk janus sisters down so they don't kill the other personality (hope that makes sense) so i figured it was a problem with one or more mods,
i tried the 6 7 & 8 ranks (charisma 4) (Scholarship 4), the option to talk down the sisters and save them both, didn't happen.
i removed the mods, except for the unofficial patch, i'm going to try it again today, and see if removing the mods fixed the problem,
i do plan to look at the mods again, try to figure out which one or ones, gave me trouble (VTM:B is still as a beta for modding),
so i figure they are just starting to do mods for it so i will look into them some more in the future
To save them both you need to have been polite to both of them before, by the time of the final dialogue it might be too late...
There are people on these forums that know quite a lot about the quests, I'm not one of them though. Maybe someone else can tell you the requirements for the quest.
If you post again, mention which version number of the Unofficial Patch, and whether you installed the "basic" or "plus" version.
