Pisha, 2 quests in the hotel, Skyline apartments (rob the apartment), continuation of the killer quest, diease quest for tremere and anarchs, Venus, garage etc.
Check the walkthrough. The only one you can "miss" is Pisha i think since for it to trigger, you need to go to the hospital. First few times playing the game way back when, i totally missed that place cause i didn't know you can go there. It looked like background models.
Definitely. I just made it through Santa Monica, hitting side quests as well, and it felt really short, much shorter than I remember it being when I originally played years ago. Don't think I missed anything, just that it takes longer when you don't know the game.
EDIT: To OP, in Santa Monica, one quest that's easy to miss for me is Bloody Mess, because you have to recheck your email after getting explosives.
The only way you can really miss something is after the blood hunt on you, when the cabbie drives you around. That's the endgame and you should do everything you can before the werewolf quest.
The santa monica side quests where a little more fleshed out. I really enjoy hacking in this game and messing with computers. Too bad you rarely get the opportunity.
I remember it kind of snowballing like this on my first playthrough and once i got to hollywood and china town there was not much to do.
I sure enjoy all the main out of town missions tho like the haunted mansion, museum, elizabeth dane. Just finished Grouts Mansion. hope i didnt miss that relic in the museum but not a big deal. Now im onto that snuff film chain which i look forward to. Sucks how the game kinda just drops off near the end.
other strands are not mentioned at all. like sneaking through the wearhouse and parking garage, undetected, for extra xp.
but thats not a running theme. so, for instance, getting through the museum undetected yields no extra xp.
the most missable strand i can think of would be checking back with strauss right after isaac asigns you the gargoyle task. remember the book you found in strauss' study? ; )
the easiest and most spoiler-rific way to double check is to look at the experience_table.txt
in unoficial_patch/vdata/system
the quest_placename.txt's can also be rather enlightening.
but not all quests and strands actualy give xp and or have affirmed quest progression checks. ; P
sometimes, its just the thought that counts. those tend to be my favorite... and coincidentally... the most evil. >: D
If i had known they did basically no damage i would of had way less frustration trying to do that quest without bloodshed the first time lol.
try bunny hopping the laser beams without disabling the panel... beckett did it...
gotta love beckett.......
edit: i don't think its actualy possible... if you did manage it... that should be 100xp right there.
I believe that Beckett entered the room from the windows in the ceiling. He is a Gangrel after all...
Or are they allowed to see you, you just can't kill anyone?
My first instinct was always to fight past all those guards if i couldnt stealth but you just dont need to.
