[SOLVED] Nines wont teach melee

After the Elisabethan Rendezvous, Nines is supposed to teach one point in melee, but he wont. I tryed on several runs with four different clans, managing to anger him only the obligatory time when you ask him why he doesnt talk with the Camarilla and he waves his gun around in response. Is it possible you can only be taught brawl OR melee and have to skip the brawl lesson before the Dane in order to get the melee lesson afterwards? I´m playing on Unofficial Patch+ 10.0.

He teaches you unarmed if you are nice to him and ask him, plus, if your unarmed is low enough.

Something like that... Can't remember what exactly you have to say, but he doesn't teach you when he saves you from the Sabbat, he teaches you in the Last Round.

So, maybe your unarmed is more than he can teach? idk...

I know I've had him teach me when I had the Brawl skill at 3. Past that maybe he doesn't.

Yeah your brawl needs to be pretty low for him to teach you.
After all, he even says something like "after picking you up from the pavement i can tell you don't even know the basics". So it stands to reason that he only teaches the basics. Brawl past 3 isn't really basic so maybe that's why Nines wouldn't teach OP.

Thanks for the help, but I had no problem getting the brawl lesson. The condition for the brawl lesson ist to talk to Nines at the Last Round after he saved you from the Sabbath, just don´t upset him too much and ask him for advise. Brawl needs to be low, indeed I thougt it even had to be max 2, not 3 to get the lesson.

Anyways, the thing is that I remembered from playing the game years ago Nines would also teach melee after the Elisabethan Rendezvouz if you ask him for advise again. (This is also confirmed in the fan wiki http://vtmb.wikia.com/wiki/Nines_Rodriguez ) I was however unable to get this second lesson lately. You can ask Nines for advise again after returning form the Elisabeth Dane, however he will answer he doesn´t like to repeat himself.

I´m guessing from this that he will teach after the Dane if he doesn´t have to repeat himself, so you can get the second lesson if you skipped the first. This way, you would have to decide wether you get a free brawl or a free melee point.

You can indeed a Melee point from him theres, independet on the earlier Brawl point, but you must make sure not to aks him too much about things...

Wow, help from a guy who just has to know, very appreciated and keep up the great work!

Sadly, it didn´t work. Upon returning, Nines talks to me for excactly three dialog choices no matter their order, but even if I´m asking for advice first, he just says he doesn´t like to repeat himself, lets me finish my second and third dialog option and sends me away.

Anyways, I´m not dying without this melee point, just curious why this doesn´t work while meeting all needed conditions I know of.

I think the order is this when he says "Two minutes, newbie..."
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Is it worth it? To have to constantly fight to keep LA?
3. You must've learned a lot in that time. Any advice?
