Ultimately however, it is still not totally proven whether he is Caine or not, and it's left up to personal choice. But based on the things the game does and the name of the folder, I personally would say he was meant to be Caine. I think a lot of other people have the same belief I do about him.
But again, at the end of the day it is still just a mere theory that likely will never be proven true or false.
I usually tend to believe the Malkavians. Someone who has the potential power to "deny" can't be that far off.
Like the spin in inception. :S
Thanks for the input. :)
His line about "driving people to their destination" before the final confrontation with LaCroix/Ming, as quoted above, contains a strong ironic undertone: as a mere cab driver, he does "drive people to their destination" in the literal sense, but as Caine, father of all vampires, the inherited blood connection with his Kindred also allows him to subconsciously "drive" their actions via manipulation of the Jyhad, a fact he reminds the fledgling of via the "blood of Caine" reference.
A Malkavian fledgling shows an immediate instinctual terror towards the cab driver, suggesting that their clan's unique insight has led them to recognize him as Caine. This is supported by several lines of dialog: demanding to know "WHERE ARE YOU TAKING US?" (with the "us" referring to all Kindred, rather than the personal "me"), results in the driver replying that he is "just a driver", and it is up to "you" (referring to all Kindred, if the analogy is followed) to "figure out where you want to be taken". The Malkavian fledgling can then retort with "But you've made that mistake before", to which he tersely responds "Yes."
When speaking with the seer on the Santa Monica Beach, one line of dialogue mentions a smiling man (Smiling Jack), and the "Father" standing behind him. At the end of the game, a cutscene is shown with Jack watching the Venture Tower from afar and laughing, with the corpse of Messerach next to him; in the last moments of the game, the Cab Driver appears unexpectedly behind him, bearing a smoky black aura that no other character in the game displays, and repeating his earlier line: "Remember, wherever we go, it is the blood of Caine which makes our fate."
The sound files containing the Cab Driver's dialogue audio are all named with the prefix "Caine."
Yesss the woman clarivoyant sees him standing behind your MC; I have not yet got the cab driver so I don't know, I am having a problem finishing the Train Yard and Warehouse quest...it is hard to find the main office, I found 1 office but too many guards are running out of it.
Then you should avoid threads such as these. Anyhow, what do you mean by MC?
And yes, that is the office with the "guards" (Sabbat ghouls) you must kill them all, or sneak past them, or something, then plant the astrolite.
"Why is he smiling? The father? Is it- is it the father behind him?" maybe this question? But it would make sense, the Father, Caine, standing behind "Smiling" Jack. And she is questioning this, too. Which makes it another point for the "maybe" argument. Good point.
I also don't know, what he means by MC.^^
For the warehouse: depends on your character. There's ammo for a shotgun around the area, the .38 peashooter doesn't really cut it. Bloodbuff yourself and drain, once you got one goon cut from the line of sight of the others. If they can't attack you, while you drain them, you don't get interrupted. You can also sneakkill some of them, before dealing with the rest. The shotgun guys are probably most trouble. Combat is really stiff, but these misfit minions can be overcome with raw strength.
I agree Bald Man, if you go into the Gallery Black and look at the paintings of course you don't see much of the Caine's face in them. The way the Cabdriver talks to you and his features your lead to believe he must be Caine of the Bible, however in the Bible and some other writings it is mentioned that God later Blesses Caine and his wife to have their son Enoch whom Caine uses his name for his city. Enoch of course is the "Vampire Hunter" that God and his Angels trains after taking him to Heaven for a time then placing him back on Earth again 200 years later.
The Cabdriver later comes to stand near Jack whom is seated with the Turkish Mummy as they watch the Ventrue LaCroix Foundation burns in the Smiling Jack Weeny Roast! LOL, I saw some very good YouTube replays and loved watching them as they give a few alternate endings to finding the sarchophagus, I still would love it if the Turkish Mummy would become alive and you could get it as your ally to battle with LaCroix a final time and the MacGilla Gorilla would join in the battle, but sadly that would only happen if someone made another recreation of the game.
Enoch was a vampire, the first one Embraced, the first of the three sons of Cain who compose the second generation of Kindred: Enoch (the wise), Irad (the strong) and Zillah (the beautiful).
He is Sire of the Antediluvians Malkav (Malkavians), Salout (Salubri) and Arikel/Ishtar (Toreador), the "Seer lineage".
Some other clans clain his progenitor as children of Enoch (Tzimisce for example), but this is not certain.
