A: No you don't, I've just launched it without the unofficial patch
B: The unofficial patch just finishes the game that was released early by a company that went under shortly after, it's just an .exe to patch it and adding a line to launch options in Steam, then you never need to touch it again.
if you cant get this to work, PLEASE, i beg you, put some more effort into it cause its definately worth it. some of the best sidequests in the history of gaming.
the greatest thing about PCs compared to dirty consoles is the ability to fudge around with stuff and getting it to work. the dumb consider it a hinderance, but the bold and adventerous understand that it's power. "user friendly" is just a marketting term for "you are too dense to problem solve." If you've ever watched "Idiocracy" you'll understand its accuarate prediction of the stupid taking over.
"gaming laptop" is an oxymoron. unless you use it for school or business, its for people who are not smart enough to build their own computer and too deep in denial to buy a console.
lol now i want to reinstall and play again. dont let clan nosferatu scare you, its yet another unique way to play this game and if you pump enough xp into Obfuscate you eventually can run around invisible and not worry about cops and masquerade violations. it also seems like everyone forgets that clan malkavian has Obfuscate as well.
Or, you know, people that want a portable and competent gaming computer. Saying people who buy gaming laptops are "not smart enough to build their own computer" is a bit myopic. You really don't need an IQ above average to build a PC.
Also, I've just installed the game using the latest unofficial patch (10), and I still can't get this game to work either. I've tried compatibility settings, followed the instructions for the launch options, but I still keep getting the "unable to set mode" error.
