Using a controller mod?

Hey guys.

I really wanna play this game but I’m so used to play with controllers that using kb+m doesn’t seem normal to me. Anyone knows how to enable a controller on this game? I have the latest unoffcial patch and can play the game without problem, but can't use a controller.

I tried using antimicro and joytokey. Both let me use the controller on the pc even on windows main screen but as soon as I launch the game the application stop to recognize the controller. Any help? :p

Thanks for the reply. I saw that, but there is no command there to enable the controller. Also, by using the command -unofficial_patch to open the game from steam, I can’t use the console as freely

But you should, in fact it is enabled by default in the patch. If the game freezes after using it either open it from the menu only or type "chareditor" and continue from there.

Thanks for your reply again. After using the console, it says “joystick found” but still can’t use it. Maybe isn’t the patch though :(

An Xbox one controller. Don’t worry thou, just finish the game with kb+m. That haunted house level was super good 😱

There's no need to use anything but steam itself anymore for custom controller confgs, I just do it like this:

(Also, if you make a good layout, it's helpful to upload it for the rest of us. :) You can import other user configs as well.)

The problem wasn’t this, whenever I started the game the Pc stopped recognizing the controller. It only happened to me in this game and I tried a lot of stuff, including buying game companion and installing antimicro and other software.

It’s awesome to know I’m not the only one trying to play with a controller in this type of games :)

Oh, sorry I didn't completely understand what you meant then. Wes' setup is really nice, I think I'm going to tweak mine to be like his, I was having trouble working out how to get all the essentials mapped! Thank you! Also, due to some severe physical issues/disabilities, I pretty much always have to use a controller. If that makes me a "noob" or I'm not a "pure" pc gamer, I frankly don't care. I play what I like, the way I like it, and the best way (for me) to play it, you know?

100% agree. I could never made the control to work so I played with kb+m. It was my first game without the controller and it wasn't really that bad, but with a controller I know for sure I would enjoy it even more. I played this game without knowing anything about it (except all the hype for the excellent writing) and I had a really nice time. Gameplay wise it wasn't too much fun but the story and the world building is just amazing.
