Venture and other stuff...
I'm in the middle of a Ventrue playthrough and i'm enjoying it so far, but i don't remember them being so incompetent when it comes to feeding mid combat.

What gives? I even have one brawl point, and every other clan does fine with just one or two brawl. Is it the patch? I think i have 10.4 rc3 installed, plus patch...

Its kinda ridiculous, i need 10+ feed attempts just to catch one thug, dafuq?
Presence seems to help, but it also seems random...

Also, when i open the console, i can't get back to the game. I close the console, but all i get is a mouse in the middle and the game is paused. I had to noclip my way out of a stuck door and ended up quitting the game cause i couldn't get back to it...

I don't think the UP changes anything about feeding. As for the console, type "chareditor" and continue from there...

Right!!! The chareditor trick, totally forgot about that, thank you so much!
As for the feeding, i think i'll just put another point in brawl and use presence. Maybe they're meant to not be good at combat feeding, no idea.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but i have some other questions...

Brawl 3, turns out, is totally fine for feeding on pretty much everything. And i never even put one point in it, books, and skill gains from Nines took care of that.

The part i'm at right now is Tzimisce and Gargoyle.

I'l kill Andrei quickly enough, but the Gargoyle is sooooo weird...

Is there a gun anywhere in the game that can hurt it? Cause every gun i have doesn't do crap to it. And i don't have melee enough to smash it with anything.

I guess i could persuade it to work for Isaac but i'm doing the Camarilla run with Ventrue and i don't want to. I wanna fight it. I know Strauss is ok with it as long as i don't rat him out to Isaac, but i wanna fight the Gargoyle.

The most damage i can do to it is with a torch, and it does 2 damage on every second hit.
That's insane...

So, how do you fight the Gargoyle with firearms?

Also, i have Firearms 7, why is every gun in this game so much crap? It takes 4 shots from SPAS-15 to kill a zombie, it's an automatic shotgun, why is it so weak? Was the weapon damage tweaked in plus patch? If not, then it should be tweaked, the damage on guns should be a bit higher, especially on guns that you get from mercurio, those are supposed to be the better ones right? Reload is painfully slow too...

Also, not topic related - is it possible to make the game load the complete map, with every area? Like, load the entire Santa Monica, so you don't get loading screens between every house, so you can enter the Asylum, Trip's shop, Mercurio's and others without loading screens. I have VTMB on an SSD and loading still takes a while. It would be super cool if someone could mod it so that there's only one loading per hub! :steamhappy: I wonder if that's possible the way the game is made.

It is mentioned somewhere that the Gargoyle is most affected by blunt weapons, so the sledge hammer would be the weapon of choice.

Not really, and I won't do it because it could unbalance the game very easily. For the zombies use headshots, they are the only enemies where they work :)!

Not without rebuilding all the hub maps. Also if I remember correctly when the guy from Project Vaulderie tried to do so with the newer Source engine, already Santa Monica caused huge problems because it has so many details that the map editor crashed often...

Huh... Bummer about the all in one loading. :steammocking:
It's not a huge deal anyway, i was just curious if it was doable. I guess not without any major engine changes etc.

I know about the sledge hammer, but without melee skill idk if that's gonna do anything. I'll try though.

And are you sure about zimbies and headshots? Because it doesn't seem to do anything. I specifically targeted their heads, but the numbers were SO random, and exactly the same as shooting them anywhere else. 4-5 shots in the head (damage anywhere from 2-42), same as 4-5 shots in the torso (same damage as head)... Spas-15 firearms 7... That doesn't seem right. That's why i asked to rebalance at least some of the weapons. It shouldn't take a full SPAS clip to shoot a zombie. Ingram MAC10 does 4 damage to them. I needed 2-3 full reloads to down 1 zombie. And that was WITH presence activated.

I'm telling you, something isn't right.

I just tested this in the Gioanni crypt with Firearms 7 and the Spas. Aiming at the head I need at the max three shots, sometimes only two or one! So there is some random factor involved..

Yeah. Did you test the torso too?

Also, doesn't 3 headshots seem a bit much for a zombie from a SPAS-15?
Especially considering how many zombies there are in that mission.

I mean, i did complete it, but not without emptying ALL my ammo supply.
Now, when the tougher enemies start coming, then what?

I'm telling you, the damage on the weapons seems WAY off, i don't ever remember them being this weak this late in the game. The reload times are also abysmal as is the targeting. It's like they're not getting any bonuses from the firearms stat and are stuck at lvl 1 or something...

Did you test the Ingram MAC10 too? How much damage did it cause to a zombie? I got 4 damage per shot. Just curious. And those seem to be at least consistent damage if nothing else.

The gun that romero gives you takes about 7 seconds to reload and does almost no damage.

Last time i played with guns it was with a Toreador and i plowed through that mission with less firearms stat than i have now, and i remember using guns even before.

Is there a code to spawn an enemy? I want to test the damage of the weapons on something like a zombie. Then i'll report what i find here.

As I wrote, 3 headshots is the worst case scenario. One or two are common!

Especially considering how many zombies there are in that mission.

What mission are we talking about, the cemetery or the Giovanni crypts? The cemetery is known to be that hardest mission in the game! You normally won't be able to do it at the time you get it. If I would adjust some weapons only for that, the rest of the game would become a complete joke.

Maybe your save has been messed up, but you can compare the original weapon text files with the patched ones and see that I didn't change anything there! And you can easily check if the firearms stats works by looking at the spread of the weapons shown by the crosshair.

Did you test the Ingram MAC10 too? How much damage did it cause to a zombie? I got 4 damage per shot.

I get this too on the torso, which seems about right. I mean how much damage would a 9mm bullet do to something that is already dead? But I get 45 damage with headshots, so one or two hits and the zombie goes down...

Not that I know. I just jump into a map to test this, sp_giovanni_4 is good as zombies are plenty and you don't have to wait for them to spawn.

Hmmm....

After playing some more, i think that was a bug. The weapons seem back to normal, it no longer takes 3 full magazines to kill a human nor is the reload so slow.

Weird. Maybe a restart fixed it kinda like it fixes the Skyline apartments? Could this be due to long play times?

I would guess so. The Skyeline bug is only the most obvious result of this ;)!

I've never seen it affect anything else than the apartments though. :steammocking: Weird lol. :steammocking:
