Making money with Computer skill

Hey Guys !! This is my tutorial about how to make real money in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 1 from the beginning. There is two forms of making dollars in the game VTM Bloodlines, the major one is by having the Proficient (Hacking) 10 points and hack some of the 15 computers in the cenario of VTM, the other one is to have the Proficient (Lockpicking) 10 and open locks in the game, ther is even more locks than computers in the game, but less money from them. So i will teach you guys about how to hack the computers in the VTM scenario.


Every computer you hack in the game (must have the hability hacking 10) you earn 1 point of experience. So I will explain first how to raise computer to 10 points from the begining, with only using 14 points of XP !!!. Creating the character you put 2 points in inteligence and 1 point in knowledge (computer). You put the Background (Black Hat) + 2 in hacking, but it requires some patching or update to use the option "Background" in the creation of your char. So then you have 2 (inteligence) +1 (computer) +2 (Blackhat) = 5 in the starting of the game.


Then during the game you evolve inteligence to 3 points, it will gonna cost 8 xp, okay? Than you make the quest for Bertram the Nosferatu in Santa Monica the one to retrive the Enigma Machine with the Akeem, than you get to raise with Bertram the computer to 2 points of computer knowledge. So get to raise the skill computer to 3 points using 6 xp, and now you have 8 points in Hacking !! We will raise it to 10 points, so do the mission to Bertram to retrive the Data CD from the nosferatu under Hollywood, knowing that the CD only drops to Nosferatu chracter, so if you are not a nosferatu, you must use a cheat code to get this CD end deliver it to Bertram. Install the parameters for the cheating codes to work properly, and open the console and type: give item_bertrams_CD then deliver the CD to Bertram than you raise Computers skill to 4 points. To raise computers for 5 points you will need to spend 12 points of XP this points you will recover after hacking 12 Computers. Later I will explains where is the 15 computers in the game, Good Gaming !!

Try to hack computers two computers than se the mail box than do it again and again and again for more money, can do it 12 to 15 times.

6- Downtown First Floor Skyline Apartments

7- Downtown Second Flor Skyline Apartments

8- Downtown Empire Arms Hotel Ground Floor

9- Hollywood Lan House Ground 0

10- Hollywood Sin Bin (underground)

11- Night Club Asylum St. Monica (Therese Vorman PC)

12- Hollywood Vesuvius Night Club ground floor (Laptop)


This other one you may Hack by picking the mission - Model Citizen BUT NOT FINISH THE MISSION until you hack the Tawni's computer


The other two computers to hack with Hacking Skill is in the ship Elizabeth Dane at the St. Monica's beach in the quest: Elizabethan Rendevous And the other one is in the Museum of Natural History, but the two of them apear in areas that close the acess when you finish the quest, beside its to early to have the Hability (Hacking 10) to hack them. So forget these two computers.


If you evolve the hacking skill with those instructions you may have Hacking 10 exactly before you open the China Town's map to go there.

AND CHECK OUT: You can make a Great Hard Cash by hacking Computers in the VTM Bloodlines. After hacking each computer you recive a cash letter package in your mailbox at your haven. If you hack all the computers in sequence you recieve more than 2900 dollars, If you hack two computers and pick it up in the mailbox and than hack more two pick it at the mailbox and do it again and again till you hack all the computers you can make a even more HUGE ammount of money. Like I said its the best way to make money in the game !! Thanks Guys !!

Eatch Letter send to your E-Mail by hacking contains 50 to 500 dollars, if you do this 12 to 15 times you be the richest vampire ever in the game !!

You might mention that this is for The Final Nights or the Clan Quest Mod, because this is not in the normal game!

This is for Final Nights, I am guessing version 1.3 or 1.4 as version 1.5 has 17 hackable computers. One of two missing in this list is Carsons laptop (which requires hacking 5 or 6, and disappears once you free Carson), not sure which other one is missing.

Keep in mind that in Final Nights you also want Hacking 6 before Elizabeth Dane as they made it so you cannot access deck cams without hacking.

Also might be a bug, but only time it let me access Therese's computer was during Sibling Rivalry, it required hacking 8, after that quest ended it no longer let me access it when I returned later.

I should also mention that Final Nights 1.5 slashed amount you get from hacking by around half. Everything I hacked with hacking 6-8 gave me only $25-$50 per hack. Considering that one book lv 3-4 is around 900 with Haggle 4, you are looking at maybe 1-2 books, and 1xp per hack, for rather high investment. Final Nights also made it so that most quests will give reward based on Haggle skill, so with Haggle 1 you begin with $25 in your desk, and get maybe $75 total from Killpatrick Quests, while if you begin with Haggle 8 you start with $400 in desk and get around normal amount from Killpatrick.

I would not recommend version 1.5, I heard 1.3 is better as 1.4 and 1.5 were mostly just blanket nerfs of amount of xp/money you get, plus in Final Nights you require inspection of 7 to be able to see even most sidequest items. Basically it meant that my playthrough of 1.5 went with next to no use of Disciplines at all, and my characters only vampire interactions were that he had to feed, due to blood drain, as there was simply not enough xp given to do much.

1.5 is the better of Final Nights. It's difficult and made to be that way. Most everything is nerfed. So if you want a challenge go for it. Of course if you are gonna hack anyway, what the point?
