Tremere build for un-armed?
Hello all,

I have previously beaten this game as a toreador. But I never beat this game as a tremere. And, having tried and failed to use that class in the past, I wanted to try again. And knowing what I know now, I wanted to try a seducitve, persuasive, melee build. Has anyone done this before, and do you have any tricks for accomplishing this?

Tremere are all around really good but they aren't really built for melee out the gate. Their blood shield is a great combat defense you can get pretty early and with the right points they can be good at anything but their discipline spread screams ranged combat a focus on mental/investigation/hacking.

Dominate 3+, Thaumaturgy +Auspex is a ranged attacker

Mind you by the time you reach the end game you should be pretty speched out for all combat

Tremere can get away with pretty much anything as long as you max out Thaumaturgy. Use Blood shield for close combat, and Blood purge for maximum effect, then smash them while they're puking.

Tremere is basically easy mode, no matter what you choose. :steammocking:

It's true, Thaumaturgy should not be neglected even if it's OP - It's actually really fun to use. Playing a Tremere right now. I'm not really into melee, brawl is more my thing. You can get away with not using disciplines whilst still being a melee character. Just gotta buy blood bags and play around with the combos. I think S + M1 is a build up attack where the character leaps into the enemy with their weapon. That should allow you to stun-lock enemies if you're in a pinch!

I do melee focused for all the clans, and Tremere is my favorite.

Guns in this game just aren't it for me. It feels horrible using guns.

You should be fine for most of the game as melee Tremere if you invest early in Thaumaturgy. You get it at level 3 Thaumaturgy and it costs 10 XP points. It can last a while too. Most of the time I end up pressing F8 so I don't break Masquerade after fights.

Being stealthy doesn't hurt either as you can sneak up and take out most enemies in the compounds you visit. That's more useful to invest in rather than Seduction as it doesn't do much in the first game. Unless you really want certain dialogue lines, your points are best spent elsewhere such as Dominate.

The only boss that will give you trouble as melee are the Chang Brothers. Nobody likes them, but especially melee players. Just make sure you come prepared to Giovanni's Stronghold.

You can save up a lot on Auspex if you use Melee. Dominate 3 (sleep) and Thaumaturgy 3 (blood shield) - i think i got the levels right - are enough to last you a long while while melee. Sleep is also a must for sneaking. So anything you don't level up in Auspex (and you don't need a single level in it if you're melee), you can spend elswhere. If you really want seduction, it's fine, you won't be too gimped because of it, but it's not that useful unless you really can't be bothered to hunt to feed.

Yea, I really want seduction this time around. I never really bothered much with it, in the past. I think I got my toreadore to 6. I now want to get a character to 8, just to see all those other dialog lines I missed.

I'm thinking about going un-armed this run, so I can feed during combat. But blood sheild is something I really want to look into now.

Anything else I should know?

I recommend melee because brawl on a tremere won't do much damage. Better invest in some scholarship (that also levels persuasion), and you can get a few brawl points from books and from nines if you ask him to show you. That will be enough to feed in combat. The rest, i recommend melee.

Also, for an easy start. Break the masquerade 2 times. Then in the alley behind Asylum a hunter with a torch will spawn. That's in the top 3 best weapons in the game and you get it early.

Then do masquerade redemption missions like werewolf blood and simmilar to repair the masquerade.
