I'd say it was the atmosphere and myriad of interesting characters that keeps it relevant.
I agree with Crow’s Eye, it’s the characters and atmosphere.
Of all the games I’ve played, Bloodlines is the one with the most well written dialogue and characters, even better than Grim Fandango or Planescape: Torment.
As far as I know all the music inside the clubs was not done by Rik Schaffer, but was licenced from some known bands instead.
According the wiki the song playing in Club Confession, called Bloodlines, was written specifically for the game. But it doesn’t say if Rik Schaffer was involved with writing it or not.
This is from Ministry as far as I know...
I've bought the soundtrack twice over the years, still my favorite soundrack of all time :D
