Thank you for your response. I think I will give it a try then :)
One last question... after installing the unofficial patch, can I start the game with Steam and the patch is then included or do I have to start it from the game folder and use a certain executable to start the game with the patch?
It is so awesome to be able to play this old classic game again.
Maybe you could delete and then reinstall the game fresh and describe step by step what you are doing during the installation.
I had this black screen (sound but no picture) only when I started the game the first time without the patch. But it still worked, because the main menu of the game suddenly became visible (only everything before was black)... Can you click through to the main menu of the game? Maybe if you can change the game's resolution to better match your monitor's resolution this might be solved.
Oh, and another question... Which parts of the patch did you install (there are several parts you can choose do install). Do you use some additional programm to improve the video quality of this game?
That should do the trick.
Now I am doing it all over from scratch, with the Nvidia Graphics uninstalled, and I'll make sure to double-check this particular C:/E: thing. Thanks! Who knows, maybe it'll work hehe...
You have my undivided thanks and gratitude dude!!! Thanks from a technics-ignorant :o)
