Forgot how tough the Graveyard is...
Seriously it is kicking my butt, keeping losing sometimes seconds before its over. I don't know how I managed to do it during my first playthrough so easily. Of course the was with a Brujah built towards melee, a Toreador thats good with his fists and persuasion is a very different build.

I do forgot though is it better to finish the quest the hard or easy way? Also if Romero appears does that mean you have completed it? Even if his dialogue suggests some got out?

If Romero appears and chews you out you have failed the quest.

This is still the only mission in the game I haven't finished (via combat). I sort of gave up trying long ago. Ive done playthroughs on every clan except tremere, and some have multiples (favorite clans 5-8)

I don't think its worth doing the hard way, thats why I haven't done it. I think Romero gave you his gun as a reward, but I can't remember did it require the "hard way". iirc there may not have been any difference. Attempting to do the mission by picking up a prostitute used to bug out however.

Finally managed it. Tip I noticed that only clearing the zombies at a gate and maybe those very close by before going to the other can work. I found melee works the best for me as I was able to kill zombies in 2-3 hits with fire axe. But I am sure using a gun would work just as well if you are a good shot.

Also as for hard way vs easy way for the Graveyard. Hard does give more exp and potential firearms point. Easy a little less exp but cash or gun, I think, instead.

Most efficient way to complete this - use any type of sniper rifle at high ground positioning between Lower gate and Upper gate. Otherwise easy way is maxed Celerity. All other ways are hard, since there 2 gates to protect.

I've tried it with high celerity, still fail consistently.

It is quite a tough quest, and the easy way still gets you only 1 less exp. I was able to do it with celerity 2 and weapon 6 with fire axe. Only killed zombies attacking a gate before going to the other.
