Adding -game Unofficial_Patch to the game's launch options?

I was told this would clock the hours I play onto steam but this isn't working for me? Not sure what to do!

Add '-game Unofficial_Patch' by right-clicking the game in your Library, go to Properties>Set Launch Options, then start the game from the Steam Library, not the UP shortcut on your desktop.
You can check if you're running the UP in the game' Options.

I would look in Options and then in Gameplay to make sure the patch is installed if you haven't already. I installed mine incorrectly at first, and I wouldn't have noticed unless I checked there.
