Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

You only die once a night
Is it possible? No celerity, only avergage firearm skills, with a fire axe and a knife. I keep running to and fro the gates, but zombies just keep breaking through. I've also read that if I hide behind the mosuleum for 4 minutes, and then fight, that I can win; but the closest I've come is with 30 seconds remaining.

I remember I've beaten that mission once. I can't recall what melee I was using, but it was no Celerity, mediocre firearms at best, and relying mostly on melee to kill things. If I remember correctly, I'd run to one gate, beat them back from it, kill a few, then run to the other gate, beat them back, kill some, run back, repeat. Try not aiming for killing ALL the zombies, just push them back from the gates and kill 2 or more per shove back attempt. You don't need to kill them all, just keep them off the gates as much as possible. You can even try kiting some of them off the gates so they shamble to you instead of the gate.

Every time I've done it, it's been with a melee build. TouchOfOblivion pretty much nailed it.

The zombies are literally shambling and it can take a long while for them to acutally get to the gates. In the early stages killing them as they rise like wack-a-mole isn't a problem. When you start getting a bit more swamped and pressed for time, only the ones on and immediately next to the gates have to go.

The statue/pillar at the front gate and the corner of the shack at the bottom make a pretty good 'kill radius' marker imo. The other thing is not to drag your feet between gates. Like I said, they're slow. So one halfway up the ramp isn't getting to either gate any time soon!

The path up is acutally a pretty good spot to figure out the situation too. You can see the bottom gate from there fairly easy (If not the whole thing, then if it's shaking from being attacked), and 50/50 chance you just came from the top gate anyway.

While you don't want to give away free hits, the gates are fairly sturdy against a lone Zed. It's when the bars get bent out of shape you really need to babysit and hope the other one holds.

One of the latest patches made that quest easier IIRC.
Nevermind, I guess Ventrue would rather get Romero a date. This mission on my Gangrel walkthrough succeeded first try.

Yes it is. I did it a lot of times even with melee weapons and fists.

I usually use an axe or a sword, and don't have celerity. Sometimes it takes a few tries, don't stay parked at one gate for too long. Even on a character with focus on guns, hitting them in the head just takes me too much time.

Some disciplines help. Auspex can tell you which zombies are chasing you, and which are going for the gate, if you have it and have leveled it a bit. Celerity slows them down. animalism and thaumaturgy can give you blood points without making you stop for it or use a blood pack. I haven't done the quest with a clan with presence, but I imagine it'd help lower the damage that nearby zombies deal to the gate.

Sorry for the necropost, but this is one of the worst missions I've ever played in any game, and I've played some absolute shockers. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrorshow, pun intended.

Even with all the tips and tricks, playing as Gangrel, pulling off hairline acts of magic, it's a miracle to get past this one. Every swipe that misses the zombie directly in front of you is failure. Every fraction of a second lost is doom. Get bit? Good luck making up the time.

The zombies "shamble", but they don't shamble slow enough to run from gate to gate without thinning the nearby numbers. However, if you're near a gate, the zombies spawn in greater number, meaning that you're leaving the gate with more zombies than were there when you arrived. Try to thin the numbers, and the other gate will be quickly worn down.

I have no idea how you people did this. It is practically impossible without exploits. If you're reading this, save yourself the trouble and just exploit or cheat this ♥♥♥♥ of a mission.

I hope the worm that coded this lost their job (Oh wait.)

this quest is super hard and absolutely annoying to deal wiht
zombies are endless and they keep spawning
quest is definitely doable i did it and i only have celerity 1 that i didn't used

my advice:
take fire axe
use presence or potence if you have one of these
kill only most important zombies near gate and run

use armor that does not penalize dexterity

if you get biten once, i would reload but you can keep trying with 1 bite
2 bites definitely reload

i did this quest with melee weapons 4 and fire arms 1
strength 3 perception 2
potence 3 presence 3

eventually you can reload before taking the quest
do a lot of gaming until you finish Italian dinner
go to my friend Marcurio and tell him that you wanna skip combat in this game
he will sell you flamethrowerr

If you still can't do it there is a cheese method to just hug the wall and run it all the way down to the far corner almost above where the nosferatu crypt entrance is and just wait there for 5 minutes. Zombies basically unload due to render disntance and allow you win by doing nothing.

This, and you can also disable the AI For 4 minutes and 30 seconds (So you have enough time to type in the command again and unpause the game^^ Do it BEFORE the timer ends or Romero will bug and you'll be stuck in a dialogue that's never going to happen). At least on CQM it's hilarious how many of them spawn :D Can't be arsed to waste rounds and blood on them, heh.
