How's the RP part of the game?
Hi.

Game is on sale and I just wanted to know how the RP element of the game is. Are good and bad played out differently due to choices or are you forced into the same situation no matter what? And is there opportunities from being a good/bad character?

Thanks.

The story culminates in one of several endings for the game. The Unofficial Patch Plus even includes an ending for playing low Humanity(aka you're not a nice person) that isn't in the base game. As for the story...you can garner different reactions from NPCs, maybe miss out on some bonus XP or a skill dot, but the story for the most part takes the same primary path until right before the end. Regardless, if you like story-based games, get this. It's a classic, it's a favorite of many for a reason, and you will play it more than once.

The role-playing choices in this game have less to do with good and evil and more to do with politicking.

As Oblivion says, the story follows a set path for most of the game. But the way you treat the various factions affects which endings are available to you.

You should also realize it's a game about vampires, theres maybe 2-3 characters in the entire game that are actually good with no caveats, neither one is the player character. If clear cut good/evil is something you care about you may not like this game.

But the story, characters and atmosphere are excellent.
