Weapon Upgrades

I may have missed some in-game instruction, but I can't figure out how to upgrade or replace my starter weapon and I need some assistance.

The blacksmith appears to only deal with armor and jewelry, and the weapon shop only sells level 1 weapons. I do have a level 10 axe also equipped in my weapons window, but my character only uses the starter fist weapon.

You use the weapon for your class. See the NPC at the town fountain to see what classes there are and what, if any, you can change to.

Thanks, I figured weapons and classes might be linked. I'm still not clear on how to upgrade, enhance, or replace weapons. Fighting level 10-12 enemies with the level 1 weapon is painful.

new weapons will drop from enemies, if that helps

You'll need all types of weapons, as long as they can fit in the equipment slot, and all weapon entries will work, which will greatly increase your output

Thanks for the responses! I guess I've just been unlucky with the drops; I've gotten several weapons, just not fist weapons which is the only thing my available classes so far can use. So I'm still using my level 1/damage 3 weapon and combat is a bit of a slog. I'll keep toughing it out and hoping for the best.
