Majesty 2

Majesty 2

The Royal Feat is Literally Impossible
And I'm convinced everyone who says they've done it has used hacks or something, I've followed every guide. They're worthless.

>I build a lord's hall and clerics
>The lord I hire will wander off, never come back
>about 10 minutes in, a MASSIVE wave of serpents spawns, destroys my castle before anything is done to fix it.
>The clerics cannot survive long enough to manage anything, and consistently die around lvl.5

Somebody explain to me -how- this is possible? Am I supposed to do this last? After I've gathered all the other artifacts? Is there some hidden game mechanic there? Is there some way to make it just freaking stop?

I can't destroy the stupid serpent spawners fast enough, I can't pay enough for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lvl.20 lord to be even remotely interested in helping out. I'm at a complete loss.

actually all the DLC missions have been significantly easier so far. A bit rough around the edges at times but nothing I couldn't handle.

The only DLC missions that get easier are the Monster Kingdom ones. But Kingmaker and Battles of Ardania? complete nightmare, in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ways i might add. they make The Royal Feat look like a beginner mission in comparison.

I have the same issues as you. If i remember from old discussions people thought it was because the game does not scale framerate properly. It gets harder the faster you run the game.

Could you still recomend the DLC even with this or is it not worth buying?

none of them are recommended in my book; the Kingmaker, and Battle of Ardania DLC was beyond frustrating to play with the insane difficulty, and RNG whether or not you win, they take the infuriating flaws of the base game and take it to new heights, i could not get more than 4 quests at most before the artifical difficulty and RNG made me quit. As for the Monster Kingdom expansion: it is more fair and all that, the only quest which was quite annoying, but i could beat was the penultimate mission because it was on a timer. but what makes even this DLC not worth playing is the Final mission: it is broken; it has a gamebreaking bug which crashes the game after a few minutes into the mission, so it is unbeatable, the developers of this game never bothered to fix it, and it has no workarounds. it just goes to show how little they cared about this game, and paradox refused to fix the game's flaws after the morons who made this game moved on to other projects. i know i might get flak from fanboys who say im a salty rager, but making games hard by having enemies constantly and nonstop rushing you, having bosses that are not hard for any reason other than they have debuff immunity and heavily padded stats, AND also in some missions will join in on the raiding of your kingdom further padding the games "difficulty", combined with your heroes A.I. being braindead is not challenging; its terrible game design. i say this because im a huge fan of Majesty 1 and its more difficult missions had nowhere near this games frustration and RNG, and it came out NINE years before this game did.

Thanks for all that info. I've already bought monsters dlc and am playing (struggling) through it. Was wondering if the others are any better but i guess not.

The game honestly has so many issues but i still enjoy it ever now and then. Just today i beat the monsters mission where you recruit the minotaurs. Took me 5 or so tries because my monsters kept getting lured into the insta kill towers by fleeing enemies. No matter how much gold i seemed to put on the fear marker they just ignored it.

no problem, The Monster Kingdom is the only reason i even still bother to play this game. none of its bosses join in on the constant raiding that still happen, so it makes it more fair, if only a little, and it is the only "expansion" that adds anything new. the base game is just a more or less copy paste of Majesty 1, while somehow being inferior to the original.

I went Warriors and Clerics towards the south defended by a tower. Get the first serpent nest down then it's not too bad.

Build your marketplace and other structures south of the castle, build upgraded guard towers to the southwest of the castle and near the free inn, I usually go for 2 clerics and 2 rogue's guilds, and add warriors and rangers as gold permits. If you go for the lord's hall you can get rogue lords, I recruit them in the early missions because they are very powerful for the hiring costs.
This mission can be frustrating when you get a bad graveyard placement.

The Royal Feat - So many serpents/little dragons!

Early Game Prep:
- Place a tower south of Castle, this is to bait the first dragon breath attack. Build Markets and Guilds south of the tower. Beware of the nest further down south of your castle. I didn't use lords for this mission myself.

- Setup a row of least 2-3 towers south of castle, with buildings placed under the row of defense. Explore west to quickly to setup trading post.

- Slowly clear out nests to the north-west and north-east. Endure attacks and upgrade your heroes. Assign kill or defend flags to help defend and level your heroes.

- Avoid destroying the big dragon's nest, assign kill flag on it when it comes to your town. Heroes with abilities to slow enemies will help.

*Clerics will be key for this mission, I had 2-3 clerics guilds keeping other heroes alive. Dwarfs will be very useful later on. Avoid buying back non-essential heroes from the graveyard.

*If you have finished other missions, you have Artifacts (top left menu) available, one to heal heroes and the other to increase tax $.

*Get a Rogue Lord, high level rogues are cheap and excellent for the early game.

If you don't have a rogue lord or any other hero you want:
-Go back to an older missions, build multiple guilds (max of 3 guilds) of the hero you want, save the game before you train heroes. If you didn't get anyone with the right stats, reload the save and try again.

-For a good rogue lord you want high melee damage and good health, so look for high strength and stamina stat. You can check hero stat by opening up the hero info (click "i" icon top left of unit panel). My rogue lord has 18 strength and 12 stamina. The max is 20 per stat.

-At the end of the game please remember to select the hero (don't let it die at end of game) you want to become a lord. Lords will keep all armor, skill upgrades and items for future games. Some heroes can change class later on in the game, like a warrior can change into blademaster or paladin, when you make the change they will lose all gear purchased and all stats will be rerolled.

one of the best ways i have found to beat that mission is have at least a lv 16 warrior and the first building i build is the lords manor and summon him even if use all my money he can tank that dragon and economy can move from their its slow start but with constant defense flag on the castle and him their it can move forward :)

It was so so so RIDICULOUSLY hard, but I did manage to beat it. I started with the hall of lords and a rangers house and some guard towers sort of in a box around it. Essentially I recruited the thief hero I had which was about lvl 15, and get some chump rangers from the hut. I saved up until I had enough for my hero ranger as well, and with those 2 heros I was sort of able to stabilize and kill 2 of the nearest flying snake nests to the south and southwest. I nearly lost my castle from all the random crap but a defense order was enough with my heroes. I eventually was able to get a market and rogues, and then clerics and warriors. I kind of let them build up in levels before pushing out and getting the rest of the nests. From there it is just grind, level, and upgrade everything before taking out the dragon
