Free download or steam+DLC

Hay guys, was hoping someone could help me understand the difference between the free version on the main website, and the steam version plus the steamtech UI DLC.

Also from what I can see via donations on the main page earns you some sort of in game currency? If so does that make this game micro transactiony? ( apoligise in advance if im talking out my mistaken ass)

Buying it or donating gets you extra features; item vault (universal storage), custom avatars instead of the default one, a green name in chat, etc. I am not sure about the steamtech thing, I did not get it.

The more you donate, the more you can store in your vault. I dont know how many buying it through steam gets you.

It used to be 3 slots for Steam buyers, but it got increased by 4 recently.

Check out the donation page[te4.org]. Buying on Steam counts as a donation, basically.

From what I have seen, donating is not necessary to enjoy the game. That being said, I bought the game in the Indie Gala bundle, and after playing it for about 6 hours and seeing how much I enjoyed this game and figure on enjoying it in the future, I went and donated 20 Euros on the donate page. My only regret is not discovering the game until just now. :) (Of course, I am something of a Steam addict, so having it on Steam and all the little Steam achievements do add something as well).

Yeah... ever since it came out on Steam, I haven't touched my old install. It's just so much more convenient.

Fantastic game that is, if anything, too cheap for what it delivers.

Knowing there is a free version and thenn after tried the free version, I bought the game on Steam just because the developper must be encouraged and as I'm enjoying his game, he then, deserve well all the cash asked for the purchase on Steam !

I'm proud to say: I'm really happy with my purchase, just dislike there is NO way to translate the game in my primary language (which is French, so German cannot at all too), and... Achievements (1225) don't unlock really in Steam.. (Hope they counted and tracked somewhere tough) !

Speaking of the game: I don't saw any bugs and I don't experiencing any crash with the vanilla game (want add VANILLA game because Tales of Maj'Eyal support mods and addons aswell!).

That's all the power of that game: a great ambient & gameplay for a rogue-like (I play only on normal mode for the moment, since I'm not an hardcore gamer ^^`)

There's a korean translation at the Steam Workshop, so I suppose there is a way to translate the game to french, but you'd have to ask someone else how.

There is a way to translate the game I know that, but translate game which can be updated without crash and bugs (due to translation) is just impossible.

So it's why I said: NO way.

This is a great game, and I decided to purchase it in order to support this Dev. Item Vault? How do I access that LOL. Somehow I missed seeing that with my Steam version? Would be a pretty cool thing if I can find it!

It's in a certain location that I haven't reached it, but I think it's some kind of castle.
EDIT: Apparently, it's in place called "Sher'Tul Fortress."

You're welcome! Just for future reference, I found this information on the game's wiki, you should check there first whenever you wanna know something like this :)
