Removal of Breeding Pit
Although I don't agree with the reason, I can understand why the creator decided to remove the Breeding Pit from the game. However, what is problematic is that gameplay was not adjusted to compensate for the removal of this content. We are now left with no way to reduce the amount of patrols in the East. It is extremely bothersome navigating that part of the world map due to the sheer amount of enemy patrols encountered. It feels like every 5-6 steps you take in any direction will get you spotted by a patrol which annoyingly follows you around trying to intercept you. The endgame is already monotonous and overly stretched out as it is. It feels like a chore to drudge through this part of the world. My suggestion to the the developer is to lower the number of patrols in the East to levels matching that of which was encountered, pre-patch, post-clearing of the Breeding Pit. This could, at least, be implemented temporarily until a more permanent fix can be devised (I believe I read somewhere that the dungeon may be reintegrated in the game at some point once it has been "re-worked").

Non-Spoiler-y background for those who have not gone past early or mid-game:
Near the end of the game, you get access to a new world map area where there are a large amount of enemy patrols (like adventuring parties/Ziguranth patrols) roaming around. There used to be an optional dungeon in this new area that, upon clearing it, would significantly lower the number of these patrols. Since the last patch, the dungeon has been removed due to certain people complaining about disturbing descriptive content relating to lore found in that dungeon.

Wait, what about the lore was disturbing? I know that you contribute to genocide but, uh, it is a video game.

Damn, Breeding Pit sounds like some mad scientist stuff, I love stories like this. And I didn't even get there :trazz:

Shame that it's gone right when I start pushing into that half of content for the first time. I wish people would get over themselves and just not play games if they don't agree with things in them. Too many people with the expactation that every game be catered to their every whim... that amount of entitlement is disgusting.

There's an addon that restores the zone here[forums.te4.org].

Yeah I'm interested in knowing what was so offensive that it forced the dev to unbalance the damn game by removing the dungeon entirely??

Do note that the game was originally balanced around *not* having the Breeding Pits at all. The Pits were added in relatively late in development, and people managed to get by the patrols before then. A big part of the problem with the pits actually was that people were doing them before any of the other orc stuff, meaning story-wise the whole thing seemed out of place. If the pits come back they will be restricted to later in the game.

I do agree the encounters need scaling back a bit. For now I suggest getting some boots of speed or something similar to reduce movement speed, as that lets you run away from the encounters on the world map pretty easily.
The Breeding pits were my go to dungeon in the east. That was one of the first things that I had to clear. The patrols just felt way too out of hand. It felt like a nice easy place for experience. I also really liked the setup of it. Only dungeon now that gives a somewhat similiar feel is the alternate Lake of Nur map in the west, but it's not as enjoyable.... I'll take cavern over flooded building anyday. Sad times, guys.

Just feels like some persons always look for something to complain about. What are we going to lose next Melinda questline? So, much offense in that! The depravity and nudity... oh my goodness! --- Truth be told... this dungeon I wouldn't miss as much since I skip it often enough. I'm just terrible at that quest. Lost enough characters due to unfortunate circumstances in it.
