[Bug?] Alternative Maze lacks exit

So, I got to enjoy the alternative Maze. Not too bad, but when I finally hit the fourth level, I found no exit.

You progress through the levels while "jumping into holes in floor", so there are no stairs to take the long way. I could not, for the live of me, find a surface-portal anywhere.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it an area oversight?

You could always use the Rod of Recall, that's what it is for. If I recall correctly, there are several areas in the game you can only exit via the rod.

That's how I got out of there. I did not realize the Rod would "recharge" back.

Guess it's a non-issue for anybody who actually knows all the mechanics :)

There are very, VERY few one use items on the game. Most things will recharge eventually.
