Steam Version -> TE4.org
So I bought the Steam version first, and logged into the site and made my account with my Steam account. Does that mean I have the full version on TE4.org as well or no?

You should.

Thanks. How do I check this, exactly?

Go to the website and check your account/profile. You should see a tab that says "Steam", clicking on it will show a page that says "You own Tales of Maj'Eyal on Steam." Next, you can check the tab that says "Balance". You will see the purchases on your account in the little window on the side titled "Balance Detail", this is a complete breakdown of you account including which DLC you have access to.

Thanks. I've got nothing, so I assume I can't play the full version through the te4.org website then?

Have you linked your accounts? You should have access to the game on both the website and on Steam once you buy it and you are considered a donator. I think this is the case. Hoping someone will come along to clarify. Part of me now thinks that if you buy it on the website then you have it on both and can get a Steam key but if you buy it from Steam it doesn't work the same way. Great now I'm confused.

That's exactly what I'm wondering.

if you link it to the website you are considered donator. the content is exactly the same and you have access to the vault and the stone warden class. you have no negative effects when you get the steam version its exaclty the same and the achievments are shared on steam and also the website if you connect the account

If you donate on the website it says you get "Voratun coins", with which you can buy DLC. Is there some equivalent deal buying through Steam? The whole buying-coins thing is a little puzzling to me, tbh.

Empath: The game is 100% free.

Donating, either through the site or by "buying" it on any number of platforms, unlocks the item vault with a small number of slots and a few tile settings and the stone warden class.

Donating on the site gives "coins". You can redeem these coins for a steam version, amusingly enough.

At full price, getting the DLC off steam and donating coins to unlock the DLC on the site are the same cost, 90% sure.

Their coin system is just a way to not "hinder" repeat-donators who stop for a bit, who can pick up new content with the money they've previously donated to the game devs.
