Reset everything in the game?

I want to start from scratch (No unlocks, no achievements, no lore)

I tried to clear them all, but nothing has happened yet, it shows still the unlocks and I can play with those unlocked things.

Is there a way to wipe out the registry in my ToME account?

Did you manually remove files or did you click the options in your profile at te4.org? If you tried the second did you follow the instructions and do it while in game on a character?

I really need a tutorial, since I did this:

1: Opened the game like one usually does on Steam.
2: Now I'm in the main menu of the game (With the expansion installed and Steam UI), I have my ToME account linked to it
3: I click on the account link, sending me to my account info and stuff, showing me the achievements and unlocks (even if I said I wanted them defeated, I have Baby Steps unlocked, as well as the chest and a class, courtesy of a relative of mine who didn't liked the game and decided to play)
4: Now I go to the Reset Data tab, and I press the Reset Unlocks, activating a prompt, telling me if I'm sure, I say Yes, and the game tells me "it's done, once I open the game, I should have the unlocks deleted"
5: The game closes down and I open it again.
6: I go to the New Game option, it loads, but when I'm doing the character, it shows the birth unlocks still.

I haven't deleted the files in my computer, by the way.

If you can do a guide, just like this, it could really, really help.

Hmm. You should need to be loaded on a character not just at the main menu. Interesting that it still closes the game down though. If doing this doesn't properly reset things then I can see about having DarkGod manually wipe them for you.

As far as deleting the content locally if you did that and weren't online then things would stay unlocked but once you go online and connect to your profile it would download the data. So a local file deletion might be needed but wouldn't be sufficient on its own. You can try doing that though if you wish, just delete C:\Users\%username%\T-Engine\4.0\profiles. Potentially back it up first just as a precaution.

Wait, closing the game shouldn't be happening?

I haven't touched the files at all, I don't even know if it's safe to even delete my profile manually, I mean... I'm not even sure if the game prompts me to register an account, or ask for the "original" account (Not sure if multi-accounts can be used).

A clarification to this can be very useful, if you can also talk to DarkGod, or give me directions on how to talk to him, then I'd appreciate it too.

It SHOULD close the game when it does the reset, I'm just surprised if it's happening from the main menu rather than you being on a character as intended.

Deleting the profile bit should give you a login through steam button that would automatically connect again. I wouldn't suggest doing it if it wasn't safe, no worries.

As far as contacting DarkGod, if the manual reset options end up not working then you can use the contact form on te4.org.

It will wipe all the unlocks and such LOCALLY, but when you connect and sign in to your profile it downloads data from your profile again. So if the procedure to wipe the information doesn't work then will end up with the info again.

So just to make sure you're doing the steps right:
1) Run the game.
2) Load or create a character. Just make sure you're in-game not on the main menu.
3) Click the reset button from your profile page at te4.org
4) Click the in-game confirmation box
5) Game should restart and whichever thing you reset SHOULD be wiped. If you start with unlocks this should be pretty obvious if it worked or not.

As far as wiping achievements goes it will wipe them from your te4.org profile but I don't think it will also remove the steam copies of them. I've never wiped my achievements, just unlocks, so I can't say for sure. There is a tool some people use to cheat achievements on steam (although I really don't see the point of doing so) that could also do the opposite and undo achievement progress; you can find out what this tool is and the risks of using it, I certainly won't endorse going that route officially.

Did what you told me to do.

1: Made a character.
2: Started a new game.
3: Went to the webpage and deleted the unlocks, giving me a prompt in-game.
4: I accepted it and it closed the game.
5: After opening it again, I went to see the profile, the unlocks are still there.

So, I guess I have to try the manual wipe-out if all else fails... Perhaps the game has issues wiping out Steam user's accounts?

Edit: NOTHING! The manual wipe-out didn't do anything to the account. The reset options are probably not working at all... I'm going to contact DarkGod, then...

I would like to know how to do this. I appear to have two usernames one for Steam and one for the copy I downloaded before getting it on Steam. This is causing problems as it keeps switching to my pre steam characters which I cannot access when I boot it up. Can I just delete my entire profile and start from scratch as if I had just installed it?

I have succesfully deleted the unlocks, and it appears the lore is at 0/300 something.

The only thing that are there is the achievements...

Luckily the achievement was the Baby Steps one... I'm just waiting for DarkGod to answer me, so he doesn't wipe out my profile while I play.

Maybe you should log-in in the webpage with the Steam profile only? Then you log-in in-game with that profile again? It wouldn't cause any trouble, then.

That's all I know about this, the mod knows better.

Doesn't make a difference if I log in with steam profile. It immediately switches me to pre steam profile once I have logged in but if I go to the game, I am in Steam characters. It is super annoying.

Well this hasn't even been fixed yet, I spent 4 hours trying everything to reset my progress. Of course, logged on to a char, atl tabed to my web browser, reset data in web browser. Back to the game, see the little msg telling me everything is getting reset click accept, game closes. But it doesn't work, deleted local files in User folder, deleted game, re installed game. How in christs ♥♥♥♥ does it not work. How do you NOT have a reset button IN GAME, after 7 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years of the same issue still existing. I love this game, and want to re-experience every aspect of it, and you won't let me. Guess Im gonna go back to Caves of Qud, you guys are on the cusp of something great, but with such a retarded lack of foresight to let your fans experience it all again? What a ball drop.
