What are people's thoughts on Embers of Rage?
I have won the basic game and have attempted embers of rage a few times. I kind of don't really enjoy it though, the idea that you are now killing all the people you helped in the original game because evil feels not great. I don't mind all the weird technology and stuff-- it is weird for sure, but the lore is interesting. I guess I prefer RPGs where you can choose good or evil rather than making you just have to be evil.

What do you think?

I have read a lot of lore during the main campaign, how the orcs got harrassed by the halfling and other races, it is a different point of view (there is even a achievement with the same name), i felt bad for the orcs when i played main campaign, so, in fact, in amber of rage, you are not "that" evil.

-Love the sea trolls. I want more of them, and play as a troll pirate.
-I'm indifferent to the orc/kruk revenge story
-I dislike the fate of the steam giants. I want to play as them too.
-Early game dungeons are sparse, so it always feels like I'm under-leveled/under-geared until I go over the bridge.
-I hate gunsnek.

Overall 10/10 just for the availability of tinker classes.

I hate that steamtech becomes available in the base campaigning, and that the meta has warped around that. I also hate that it forces you to kill innocent women to succeed, but whatever.

An excellent campaign - with much more realistic plot than that of the main one. The satire elements throughout the whole Atmos giants plot are well worth it alone. And you CAN easily spare the giants - you even get an achievement for that, too. The engine makes it somewhat unnecessarily bothersome through making giant Commoners break your autoexploring and not allowing them to run away from the map, though. Killing these isn't required in any way - "to succeed" or otherwise - it's just bothersome because of the engine peculiarities. Maybe it's a good idea for a mod to make them able to...
Agree about the early dungeons - it makes it very ... tight fit to pass into the midgame here, especially if not playing as a Tinker .
The Gunsnake is capital-H - Hilarious! I almost always ROFL when seeing its text. There is also a Sawtree which is almost as good. ;))
Troll pirates are not a part of this DLC - they will be the subject of some future one. Agree their flavor texts are excellent, though. And I also can't wait for that future DLC. Though the one about the spider cultists also looks good
All in all, 9/10 I think. Maybe the few design flaws that there are will get fixed in the future, then it'll be better still.

Nah, it's possible for a giant civilian to bottleneck a 1 space tunnel, and if you weren't lucky enough to get a pickaxe, you have to kill said civilian to progress.

Totally love it. i havnt completed the main game yet but i've completed Embers of Rage a couple of times now and i particularly enjoyed playing as an orc and all of the steamy tinkering goodness. The campaign isn't too long but story wise its pretty good if you're into the game lore.
Really if you like T.O.M.E you should get all of the dlc as they all add something different to the main game and are great value.

It's the only one I haven't bought both because I don't want to see steampunk items in my main game campaign runs and also because some of the stuff from it seems OP compared to base game.

Even if you don't get a pickaxe, you can teleport them away, etc-etc-etc. It's just very bothersome to go to such lengths. And even the case of tunnel blocking doesn't happen every playthrough.

As I recall, you can turn it off. So you can turn it on to play and then turn it off so it doesn't affect your base game.

That's right, you just go into the addons settings page in the game, then disable the DLC.

What makes you assume I have a way to teleport them at that level?

Let me guess, you play Alliance in Wow? lol

I think EoR campaign is awesome. The classes, skills, zones, monsters, plot, music, items - everything is very well done and expertly crafted. It's also a good bit shorter than the main campaign so it's a great alternative if you've been getting sick of that from doing it so many times.
The humor in the writing is a really nice touch too. Giants complaining to HR about chairs, the troll pirates disciplinary report, lol.

I found it a bit easier than main campaign, even before they nerfed injectors. Now they've nerfed the final boss too, took away his annoying spine of the world prodigy and his 3,000 damage darkness nuke spell. Increasing the difficulty to insane got it to where I wanted it. Previously most of my characters died to getting pulled into their own shots, but Darkgod in all his benevolent mercy removed the ability to be hit by your own missile based ranged attacks.

EoR is tons of fun and really shows how Darkgod and his team have gotten even better at game development. I'm looking forward to more new content from them.

What do TOMME and WoW have anything to do with each other? The orcs in the 2 games are different from each other as night and day. TOME orcs are basically Garrosh or Sylvanas;s horde.

Very fun but short, whats disappointing is some of the areas look great and that they hold more interaction than their initial purpose like a boss fight, a hidden treasure or a unlock/trophy but they don't, personally i'd like to see another standalone DLC that's also a sub-expansion to EoR.
