How do you get rid of Antimagic Disruption?
(Sorry this is long, I got very confused and even though the problem went away I still don't fully understand what happened)

I put on a "cleansing copper amulet" and got a message about anti-magic. I'm using a better item description mod, and looking at the item it says "Disrupt". I didn't know what Disrupt meant (sounded like it would disrupt a magical attacks aimed at me, especially as that's what the bonuses do) but now I understand.

Okay, so I took it off right away. But my Shatter Afflictions rune (the only thing I have that can remove magical effects) is grayed out. If I try to use it it gets disrupted by anti-magic forces.

I looked at the wiki and searched this forum. Anything I see says spells and magic runes have a 50% chance of being interrupted while wearing an item with arcane disruption. But this is happening with the item off.

I see my character has an "Antimagic Disruption" effect. It doesn't have any time limit that I can see and isn't going away. My only way of cleansing magic effects (Shatter Afflictions rune) is blocked by this effect. Dropping the item entirely doesn't get rid of the effect either.

Searching the wiki for "Antimagic Disruption" doesn't turn up anything. There's no page about it, and in the pages about anti-magic I did not find any mention about the Antimagic Disruption effect or what to do about it.

Do I need to start over with a new character to get rid of this?

Edit: No matter how many turns I took moving around, the effect was not going away. Resting didn't remove it either. After going to the next floor and fighting some enemies I noticed Shatter Afflictions was no longer grayed out and I didn't have Antimagic Disruption on me anymore.

Was the game waiting until I took an action to get rid of the effect? If so, why didn't it say something like 1 turn left? I don't remember any status effect not saying an amount of turns left other than the Antimagic Disruption effect.

I'm still confused about a couple things. Why did the effect go away suddenly when it seemed like it had no duration limit for so long? I probably moved halfway around the map waiting to see if it would go away, before finally going to the next level of the dungeon and fighting something.

And there's something else I found out which is confusing me now. I looked at everything I have equipped, and saw I was wearing a "cleansing leather cap of strength." It has Disrupt/Master.

When I put that cap on (which was before the cleansing copper amulet existed) there was no message about anti-magic. Was that a bug?

Did the message not show up because it's Disrupt/Master and not Disrupt by itself? Did the item get corrupted when I put on the cleansing amulet, and get changed to Disrupt when it wasn't before? (I don't remember if it said "cleansing" earlier or not).

Antimagic disruption should only persist while wearing an antimagic item or if you've decided to join the Zigur and did the Zigur Arena (or if your character started with the Antimagic generic tree by default).

The talent being greyed out just means you can not use it right now. You can only use Shatter Afflictions if you have a debuff to cleanse. Can not use it just to get the shield.
There are also other sources of magic disruption. Are you sure you didn't have the Spell Disruption debuff on you or something similar?
Or maybe you were standing in a zone effect? I think there are antimagic bushes or something like that? I don't know, never paid much attention to them.

Otherwise I'm not sure.

Unequip everything, if it persists then either a bug or you did sell your soul magic to Zigur

Actually, the message shows up only first time you mess with anti-magic so no, that's the same mechanics as other anti-magic gear. Don't equip it unless you know what you're doing.

Yeah the message doesn't keep showing up every time you equip a arcane disrupting piece. It only warns you the first time. And I think it only warns you if you have something that can be disrupted. So my guess is that you didn't have the shatter rune yet the first time you equipped an arcane disrupting piece.
I'm not sure what caused the disruption to stay after you removed the pieces of equipment (assuming you're sure you removed all of them) . It's hard to say when I didn't see exactly what happened.

Just keep the following in mind for all future runs:
If you have any spells, including runes and spells you gained from escorts (Like Chants), ignore equipment that's powered by arcane disrupting forces. Otherwise go nuts.

That's what happened! I got the cleansing cap very early, and didn't have the Shatter rune until later on.

Sounds like an oversight that the message doesn't come up if you equip something with disruption when you don't have anything equipped that would be affected by it, and it still doesn't warn you when you equip something that would be affected.

I just checked and I have two rings and some boots equipped with Arcane. For future reference, do equipped items with Arcane on them get affected while there's an Antimagic Disruption effect on you?

Arcane powered equipment itself is not a spell. Though it could still have an active spell talent on it, which would be affected by disruption. Beyond that you can mix and match Arcane Powered and Arcane Disrupting equipment just fine.
