If you can only go for Psiblades or Pain, though, I'd go for pain, since the chance to stun on every melee attack is, in my opinion, far better than increased damage.
So I prefer to save the generic points for "Tinker" if you bought the expansion.
That's what it seemed like to me. Trying to do a Doomed character, but I have never been very good at this game. The last guy I got to like level 25 I was leveling both Blades and Pain, and he was hitting like a truck in melee. The current one I am only leveling Blades to save on points, and he hits seem so much weaker. Oh well, after this one dies, ill try again.
I am playing range nuke with lots of mind debuff to enemy.
But yeah, I try to use Agony and Whisper and such from a distance, and the knockbacks to keep things away if they get close. But being able to slice them up after dropping the darkness cloud on them can be very satisfying.
