One possibility for a bug is if there is some wall between the entrance and stairs for the next level. Never seen it in this dungeon, but saw such in other ones a couple of times. If so, one possibility of detection would be to use Track or some other radar-style talent in various areas to see where it could be then dig there...
Or an admin can probably help if this is a bug, just wait for them. But try to enter the stairs you considered a vault first. There is a possibility it's there. If it's really a vault you'll see a short corridor with a door at the end at this level...
The stairs says "hidden vault" and it is a dead end, and the sewer level I've looked all over, no other stairs. I've even tried digging in places but nowhere is any stairs, just dead ends.
My character just stops moving because it keeps getting poisioned, so I've skipped that part for now. But then I have the same problem in the Krimbul place 3rd floor, can't find next area and won't let me auto explore because of the underwater. I have played some roguelikes before like Dungeons of Dredmor and similar, but this game makes me feel so stupid and like I'm missing things all the time. I'm only 17 hours in though so hopefully it gets better at some point
About autoexplore vis damage, etc. - the poison factor can be negated by either poison resistance or high enough regeneration, preferably both. ;) Depending on your class, they may be reachable innately or through equipment. Underwater is negated by either waterbreathing (some items grant this power among others), not needing to breath at all (aka being undead - but you haven't won Krimbul quest for now, it gives an option of undead race for future characters; but there are also few items which make you "treated as undead), or having an air source. The latter can be provided by one of Tinker upgrades. ;)
With these, you can autoexplore to your heart's content.
I'd also recommend the mod "improved autoexplore and rest" for the future - this gives clear depictions of stairs, etc. on your in-game map.
