Throwing knives have some interesting interactions, though. Blade Flurry also gives you an extra melee attack against adjacent foes, this does work, but the additional target must be in melee range of you to trigger.
Another fun thing with throwing knives is that they work with Flexible Combat, allowing you to punch people at range! Throwing a punch, if you will.
Last I checked Throwing Knives also don't break Stealth. No matter how many you throw.
In my experience, you are correct. You will not break stealth and they gain Crit related bonuses, such as Shadowstrike Talent.
Though you will break Stealth using Throwing Knives if you take Flexible Combat Prodigy. The Knife hit won't break Stealth but the "Ranged Punch" will cause you to break Stealth. So be aware of that if you are deciding to take Flex using Throwing Knives.
Also note that Throwing Knives do not benefit from On Hit effects of weapons you equip. Just throwing it(Heh) out there as I saw a few people on ToME chat the other day thinking On Hit from equipped Daggers work for Knives.
