There is also challenges to get stat/talent rewards.
Talent level past 5 can be uneven, some get good boosts and others almost nothing.
Hmmm, is there an easy way to tell which ones are good? Like, what's a "good" amount of damage gain on a skill per talent level? I kind of struggle with determining what the breakoff point is on skills to begin with. I have a vague idea on some of them at what point it stops being worth it but yeah.
In general any with % instead of flat number boost.
Things like blinding speed will increase well. Weapon mastery and armour are all good.
Also extending turn duration, like stunned for X turns boosted to X+1.
Some will depend on player class; like cursed aura getting to lvl10 or Possessors getting lvl9 in possession tree.
You can check out tome tips for talent break points at different levels: https://tometips.github.io/
Unfortunately doesn't go past 1.5 x lvl5 in talent mastery
Except grind farportal to find a shertul, the eidolon while on roguelike mode, and other unique things. Or try to clear oozenest. I wouldn't go to the ID after winning, there is a whole mode for that.
It's stupid to say there is nothing to do after winning the game
Once again, Micbran, YOUR tastes define no one else's. Get over it, because that's not going to change. Furthermore, you don't even bother trying to tell the truth, much of the time; want to tell me again, how no Alchemist has ever won the game past Nightmare without cheating, as a great example? C'mon, try that old-timey BS again, for the nostalgia!
Next you'll be sniveling about Arena mode, I imagine.
@ OP: There are a few decent ID mods, but I prefer "ID500" ("Infinite Dungeon 500").
arena is better than ID, at least you can not get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by rng but you might as well play the EoR campaign if you want a short game
no alchemist has ever won the game past nightmare without cheating, even berenthas' alch, i know he cheated
and yes ID is terrible, both as post game and as a game mode in general. the challenges help but there is a lot of work that needs to be done
-VERY Rng dependend in the first few floors. No good drops? Wrong elite/boss enemy? Sucks to be you. No shops or anything to help you a little bit. Challenges are also too random in terms of rewards, difficulty and so on.
-Bugged. Very bugged. I've seen enough cases of "1/xxx" elimination quests that were incompletable and sometimes enemies also just... die for no reason if you are unlucky.
-Mirror Match is flatout impossible unless you have very specific setups that heavily benefit from preparation. After all it's not even a Mirror Match. You enemy has way way higher stats.
I'd like this to be having easier starts at least, because it's definitely faster to get to the fun part of the game. ID is probably about twice as fast as the campaign. But with the huge risk-factor, the lack of at times absolutely necessary "shops" (i.e. buying combat training or whatever) and such makes it not a very balanced thing.
Even using a character from main story with leveling addon, I went from map level 75 to 87, by this point it gets tedious.
Worst challenge I've encountered has to be Dream Hunter, I accepted this and couldn't get the Level 230 Dreaming Horror below 87% health, ended up just running away. Most of the other challenges are really fun though, even Pacifist and Rush Hour. Haven't run into mirror match yet.
Infinite500 addon adds stores, escorts and tons of extra stuff but is also not compatible with many other addons, it can add some variety: https://te4.org/games/addons/tome/infinite500-game-play-beyond-level-50
I think my order of gameplay variance would be: Main story>Orc DLC>Arena>ID.
I hope they continue to improve Arena and ID though.
