Possessor Early Game: A little advice?
The Possessor seems like the class that requires the most mastery to make work. You have to know the other classes and their skill sets inside and out in order to even stand a chance, since you need to work with the limited skillsets of whatever you possess, augmented with your own limited skillset.

This appeals heavily to me, for some reason. I've always loved formshifts, transformations, etc. "Oh, there's a ton of fire enemies here, I'll possess one and get fire resist." Stuff like that.

I've toyed around in both Adventure and Exploration mode. In Exploration mode, I didn't die once past level 20, despite dying a lot before then. (Not even joking, this one randboss drakeling necromancer killed me like 70 times at the Tempest Peak; narrow corridors + Phase Door and Teleport + Infinite undead reinforcements = FFFFFFFF! I just kept brute forcing the darn thing since I wanted to possess it. I gave up.) However, in adventure mode, I often lose my last life closer to level 13 or so.

I'm aware I could use mods to make it easier, but I don't want to rely on mods. There's no possessor guides yet and I think I enjoy the class enough at level 20+ to want to eventually write one once I feel more confident, but the early game is harsh.

If we could fully respec in town, it'd be fine. There's skills that would be much more useful early on than later on, and vice versa, and you don't have enough points to comfortably get both. For example, early on when your Psi pool is lacking, points in Solipsism can be suicide. Yet, later on, it more than doubles your survivability. Stuff like that.

Anyways, any thoughts on how to make the early game less daunting?

Those hadn't been added to the wiki. Thanks. I'll take a look.

As for two-handed weapons, wouldn't those fall off eventually? The Psi Shield that blocks you from taking more than X% of your max HP is great for the early game, but the 1h+Mindstar 's Psionic Distortion completely wrecks it in damage. By level 30 it was doing over 100 per stack (stackable 5 times) per turn, dropping bosses with obscene amounts of HP within just a few rounds, and you'd mainly have bodies with 1000-4000 HP anyways, by that point so it's not like not being able to take more than X% of your max HP at once would be useful anymore.

(It's actually one of the things I meant when talking about respec limitations and earlygame vs lategame.)

Damage falls off on 2h, when you're making clones of enemies? How does that work in your mind? A clone of Argoniel is a clone of Argoniel, and no levels of damage are going to equal that level of power.

1) Cloning them requires them failing a save and is RNG based in the first place.
2) In my attempts at 2h possessors, even with prioritizing Combat Accuracy, they miss more than they hit. Combined with the cooldown on that attack, and it's pretty bad sometimes.
3) Psionic Disruption is freaking ridiculous; my level 31 Possessor (On Exploration, mind you, just messing around) is doing over 500 damage a turn just from that alone. I saw one of the guides say it's like 40 per stack, but it's over 100 per stack. Stackable 5 times.
4) Since Mindstar Accuracy scales with Willpower, you basically can't miss with attacks to lay Distuption Stacks on there. Bonus points if you possess a body with skills like Flurry that let you layer a bunch of stacks at once.

Granted: I HAVE been wanting to try a 2h/Mindstar Ogre, but Cornac's extra category point is just too appealing considering Possession Mastery + Body Snatcher are both basically mandatory to snag ASAP.
