Ruined Dungeon? I'm guessing? I thought that wasn't a "level 10 dungeon".
First of all, "level" is a minimum, not a maximum. It's the start of the scaling of the area. You really should do all T1 dungeons and most T2 dungeons before doing the side dungeons.
Second, learn to flee. Unless you are grossly overlevelled and over-equipped and the right classes with the right abilities, NO dungeon should be "without worries". You should always have at least a passing sense of danger, it is a roguelike game after all. Runed bone golems don't have gap-closer moves, fleeing should be simple.
Also, "level" of the enemies really doesn't matter unless it gets ridiculous. A level 5 Champion Of Urh'Uk will easily kill a level 50 snake. It's the type of monster that is important, you'd have been wrecked by any ol' runed bone golem. Level has some factors, but if the level 40 one three-shot you, a level 20 one would four-shot you, it wouldn't be a huge difference.
If your health is the issue, may I suggest Shield runes and Heal infusions? They don't take a turn to activate, unlike regen infusions, and so provide instant benefit for those tense battles.
As for "why"... Sometimes stronger monsters are present in places. Normally in vaults, yes, but elites and rares can have higher levels too. At least you didn't get pwnd by the fabled One Tile Patchwork Troll in Trollmire, go through the message board to see people complaiing about being unable to understand the concept of fleeing and returning to fight later, when it's a 3k hp superbeast in a starter area.
I do get it that the scaling of the enemies is set to 10-50(max level?) but I didn't expect a lvl 40 enemy to spawn nonetheless.
I'm new to the game and sometimes it does suprise me a bit,due to my own faults or this time due to a high level enemy spawning that is 27 levels above my character. But I dont really mind as long as it doesn't deny me from continuing the game.
Like I accidently summoned a Bringer of Doom, thinking that it was the boss of the area and wondered why that thing killed me like 3 times...I got lucky and killed that thing and realised I did something I wasn't supposed to do when the achievement popped up.
I do have some heal infusions but they wont help, just tried it again and got blown up by a missile, guess I'd have to level up.But well I dont mind it that much,I still really do enjoy the game and it being always dangerous due to the possibility of random high level monsters...why not?
So thanks for your answer and the explanation!
