Ruined Dungeon, beyond orbs, massive arcane DPS out of nowhere
So I finished the orb puzzle, and decide to walk into the room that opens, and out of nowhere, like, 8 spaces even before the door, I start taking massive dps. I teleport out, and barely out-heal the dps, I was about 10 life from dying by the time it stopped.

So I tried again. Same thing.

My guy has 800 hp, and within 4 turns he's down to 100 unless I heal him and get him out of there.

What am I doing wrong? Anyone got a idea? :D

Sounds like the room spawned full of rares or other dangerous casters. Ruined dungeon is a very scary place since it can spawn literally anything in the game and is probably worth avoiding.

If you were still taking damage after teleporting, check your status effects on the right edge of the screen to see what kind of dps you are taking.

Barely outhealing an Arcane DoT effect? Sounds like potentially a necromancer's Impending Doom.

I didn't check the status effect because I was too frantically busy trying to add any and all healing I could lol.

I wanted to complete the quest but I literally cannot get within 6 blocks of even entering the room. Is there any way to get in there or should I just skip it?

The only dungeons you need to clear to complete the game are Dreadfell, Reknor, the Prides and High Peak.

e: that said i'd go for the room after dreadfell since it's a free artifact

gloves of dispersion will do this better and not use an inscription slot

Oh, and if the status effect was impending doom, it may not have been doing as much damage as it seemed, as in addition to the damage, it gives -100% heal mod, so you weren't failing to outheal the damage, but rather your heals weren't working (or if you had some +healmod from gear, doing a fraction of their normal healing).

Also, as it is a turn based game, when you are in danger don't frantically start spamming healing abilities, but take your time and assess your situation, inspecting your status effects and any enemies in view before deciding on your best option.

He said he never even saw the enemy, and ran away due to the damage from the status effect, so that wouldn't help.

You can use gloves of dispersion on yourself
Scouting out what is harmng you, by using say a hat of arcane brotherhood for example (magic eye item cast), might help devise a strategy, too.

Also, once they see you, if you don't teleport away but instead step around a corner, enemies should follow you so you can engage from close range.
