Your best bet for beating the dungeon is to stock up on Blight Resistance gear or make use of damage reduction abilities (such as from Wild Infusions) to help buffer against Blight Attacks. Diving down floors is perhaps advisable when you find them; using abilities like Track can also help you avoid fighting enemies as well.
In regards to the Rares, they can be there or not; but if you are having trouble with Embers of Rage rares, I think you can deactivate the DLC. That will prevent you from making use of Embers of Rage content though, so only do this if you really have a problem with those rares.
Sad to hear this.... I just downloaded it.
Nobody had a positive experience with that mod in 1.5.5 ?
And would it unlock the achivements if it somehow worked ?

The main thing in DC to ensure yout survivability is ability to plan your action.
You need Track - without it you are most likely fail.
Also, if you have Earth's Eyes or artefact helmet with it - it doubled (or at least x1.5) usefulness of Track.
Also your charcter should have some means of defence against burs damage, also stun resist of ability to remove debuff (one infusion is never enough), Yeek Solipsist had 97% stun resist and wasnt stunned even once there.
Your strategy - get all avialable info about your surroundings and enemies with Track and Earth's Eyes if you have it.
Then pick the least dangerous enemies or groups of enemies, and eliminate them, because fight with dangerous enemy might require running all around lvl, so they are the last.
Pick fights in a way, that you will fight with only separate group.
If by unfortunate chaine of events you triggered whole level (it happened with me few times) them you most likely fail, or you need durable class that can withstand lond fights, like e.g Solipsist, Paradox Mage or Psyshot.
Also, as was noted before - postpone visit to DC as possible, I usually enter Dreadfell when I almost got 24 lvl.
Also, when you leave Dreadfell, go to nearest location like Mark of Spellblaze or Conclaive Vault or Daikara, sometimes you are able to reach them without triggering DC, that mean you are most likely win DC.
(similar still-working mods exists for the trap door, etc.)
PS - sorry for necro, as I am currently rolling a Shadow Blade.
