Best tinkers for non-tinker classes?

I should rephrase my original post and ask for random examples

Ablative Armor for crit reduction, grounding strap for stun immunity, white light emitter for lite, and fatal attractor are all good pretty much regardless of class.

What about the weapon slot for melees? I tend to use crystal edge a lot, but never really tried the others.

These three go on pretty much any character:

Grounding Strap for 50% stun immunity
Kinetic Stabilizer for 100% teleport immunity
Iron Grip for 100% disarm immunity (kinda useless for mages of course)

For weapons, I usually get either Razor Edge or Crystal Edge, depending on the character's crit chance. Acid Groove is also pretty good during the early game.

For armor, Ablative Armor is probably the best one but if you're starved for generics Spike Attachment costs nothing and will give you a huge boost to armor value.

For helmets I usually go for Focus Lens since you get Blind-Fight for free at tier 4.
