How exactly does effective talent level work?
The archmage's basic fire spell becomes a beam at talent level 5, according to the description. In practice, this means effective talent level 5 (4 points spent.) But the demonologist's ability to equip a demon to body armor is also supposed to unlock at talent level 5, and it doesn't unlock until you actually put 5 points into it. Is this a bug in the demonologist's skill, an error in the description, or a difference in how effective talent level works for different skills? More broadly, what does effective talent level affect and not affect?

(If Darkgod patches the game based on this thread, does this mean he'll effect a change to what effective talent level affects?)

If you look next to the skill you will see a multiplier (1.10), (1.30), (1.50) etc. this is how many effective points you are putting into a skill when you level it up. I don't actually have the doombringer but I am positive that it only has a neutral body armor multiplier (1.00) meaning it's effective level will be the same as the actual level. This is different from an archmage's fire modifier which is (1.30) meaning for each point you spend on it it gains 1.3 levels.

Some talents use the raw talent level instead of the effective talent level, and it doesn't really explain which.
