About the error you are experiencing: seems like you solved the important part, i can't tell why the game is behaving like that but i'll look into it.
In the meantime: that's just an optional puzzle so you should be able to move on, nothing else to be done with those characters and the omelette!
The main tasks in that area are (1) pressing all the buttons in the catwalk area and (2) fixing the CD so you can change the song. After doing both, the vip-er room should be open for you. To start any of these tasks you have to first "get rid of the servant that's following you". Let me know if you need further asistance! I'm sure you can find a good guide online if you want to have access to all the info asap!
Thanks a lot for playing!!
Like I said before (and now confirmed) you should be able to keep playing the critical-path sections of the game and progress in the story. Please let me know if that's not the case because that would mean i'm missing something important!
Thanks again :)
It was enough for me to know that the puzzle is optional. In fact I had already made it to the VIP room, but fixated on the glitched omelette servant and missed the (now rather obvious) way to proceed in the VIP room.
Now that we are here, I'll use the opportunity to also say that I've been enjoying the game a lot (the central mechanic is great and used in interesting ways, and I appreciate building an adventure around it, which is not that common for puzzle games) and wish all the best for you!
