I had a great time playing the game yesterday, dropped about 4 hours before saving and closing out. However I opened up the game tonight to continue playing, and I think I'm completely locked out and will have to start the whole game over. I just found Mog and I'm on the escape. I'm not sure what happened, but when I booted the game back up, both Mog and my character seem to be outside of the game tiles, 1 tile out. I cannot move, and Mog has an "X" to prompt to talk, and the game indicates that I'm pressing it, but nothing is happening. Opening my log and pause menu still works, so it doesn't seem to be an input issue. Any suggestions or am I gonna have to restart everything?

After messing with it for about 30 minutes, I ended up just restarting. For reference, I believe I identified what happened. I was in the room where Mog and protag first sync up. In that room, the ground tiles slide left and right to separate the characters. I think upon loading the save, the game had us placed where the tiles WOULD slide to, but not where they were, so I was stuck outside the bounds of what the game thought was in play. Sucks to have to do it all again but with the skip option, it made it a little easier. Still took upwards of an hour to replay. I would say if restarting is common, maybe an option to also skip dialogue in chunks would be helpful just to cut down on spamming the talk button.

Did you left that save slot alive or restarted the whole thing?

Hello again! Seems like i found a solution for this problem. It should prevent this from ever happening again but also should correct the save file if it's already in this situation. So, if that's useful for you still please check the next update 1.1.1 (should be up today)

Version 1.1.1 for iOS, too?

C’mon Apple!!

I’m also softlocked in a similar area—the background is completely white and Mog is missing. I think I had saved at the start of a boss fight and then closed the app. (Really enjoying the game, though!!)

Can you send some screenshots to hello@arranger.quest? Please mention your steam-username so I know it's about the same thing.

Updates on most platforms take a bit longer, it's a more complicated process than updating the builds on PC. That's why the steam version it's up to date and the other are not yet. Please be patient, we are getting there soon!

Hi, wanted to note I'm playing on PS5 and also appear to be softlocked. I saved and quit upon defeating the static beast. Upon reopening, I'm still in the boss lair with Mr. Nimbus. The quest log still directs me to defeating the static beast, but they are not present.

Also a "quick" fix is to replay that section using the skip feature (pause menu > settings > gameplay > assists). That way you can get up to that section pretty fast and then continue.

Just in case, try to make sure you quit the game by going to the pause menu and using the "save and quit" option.
